Hey Mark, I own a HW95 Luxus in .177. I don't Know how fast shes spitting them out but I can say she is extremely accurate. I'm getting 1/4 inch groups consistently at 30+ yards. She likes cphp's. I line up small rocks, no bigger then a dime across the street from my house at various ranges from 35 to 40 yards, and I can honestly say its no big challenge, but it does give me much pleasure. I believe I will always own this gun. Really an awesome rifle in every way. I took off the iron sites and installed a muzzle break I made out of pvc filled with industrial strength epoxy.

My whole collection evolves around the Hw95/R9 rifles. I have not tried to chrony my 0.20 HW95 but is shoots hard. I have taken mice, squirrels, and other critters with it. My 0.22 R9 Chrony numbers were impressive, aound 17 lb.ft energy. I'm using 11.42 gr FTT with my 0.20 HW95 and 14.2 gr RWS HP with my 0.22 R9

That is impressive samTN. And no I did not have to remove the sight groves to install the MB. One of the reason I purchased the HW over Beeman was because of the sights. The Beeman is scope only. Some times I like to use the sights and the different apertures the HW's come with.

I just found out that Straight shooters has a muzzle break that fits R series guns with no mods to the rifle sight groves

I bought an EAA badged HW95 with an R1 barrel (R1 length, if not) from a pawn shop in really nice condition for $100.00 out the door. I've been shooting it for 3.5 years now. It's only putting out about 850 fps with Beeman Crow Mags. I think it needs new seals. The LONG barrel isn't helping velocity, either. I may chop the barrel to about 13.5". That's as far as I can part it off in my lathe with it run through the headstock spindle.
Then I'll give it a recessed cone muzzle and recrown it. After that I'll turn a brake from black Delrin rod. It'll be grooved for grip. It may get grooved for rubber O-rings for better grip.
I was going to make a 1" OD steel brake and hot blue it. The weight would be great for dampening vibrations, but will probably be heavier than I want on a hunting rifle.
I'd like a blued steel, 12" long, full bull barrel. It would be stiff and dead nuts accurate, but to heavy to carry around the woods for hunting.
Maybe I just need to get a spare barrel so I can make a bull barrel for target work, and swap out to the sporter barrel for hunting.
I love my .22 air rifles, but I can't argue with how accurate this one is, nor with the dead squirrels it creates. It knocks 'em dead with CPHP and Crow Mags.
It seems like it just can't miss. It hits where I aim.
I put a 3-9X50 Leapers R/G illuminated reticle mil-dot scope with a 5 screw one piece mount on it.
It's a deadly combination on small game and pests.
I love the Hw rifles. For leisurely plinking, I use my HW30S. I think it needs a barrel chop, too. I think a 12 incher would be perfect. But then I'd have to relocate the front sight. It's an iron sight only gun. I don't want to have to mess around with a scope on that one.

I couldn't pass up an HW95 for one Benjamin.
I almost hate to chop the barrel on mine, but I haven't ever heard of it hurting accuracy or velocity in a springer. Plus, it seems to make them less hold sensitive and a lot handier and better balanced.
I'd really like to give it a good "donut" crown like it has from the factory, but I'd have to buy the preground barrel crowning lathe tool bit from Brownell's
I could give it a flat muzzle with either a flat, flush crown or recessed crown, but I kinda like the inverted cone muzzle and crown. About 11 degree muzzle, and 60 degree crown. Looks good and shoots well. Protects the crown, too.
Delrin is what I have on hand, and it's strong/tough and machines well.
1" OD steel is also what I have on hand. 1" ODx1/2" ID seamless tubing, to be exact. It machines pretty well, but being low alloy, will require more sanding/polishing to get a good finish.
I also have some load wheel axles. Medium carbon steel, IIRC. Machines well and takes a great polish. It's 1" OD also. I just have to drill/ream it out to size. I could turn grooves in it before polishing and bluing. Maybe I'll make one of each.
I have 2 lathes, 1 mill, 1 mill/drill, 1 drill press, 1 metal shaper, 1 horizontal bandsaw, 1 belt/disc sander, and several grinders. Might as well use them to my advantage.
Plus, I like carbines. They're handy. I even thought about shortening the barrel/air tube of my B50 to half it's original length.
Yeah, I'm kinda addicted to lathe work.

Ya you got some tools there! and chopping the barrel wont hurt the rifle as long as you put a good crown back on it, I just had one of my HW80 barrles choped from 20'' to 15'' and it makes it handier and better balanced , alittle stiffer to cock but it worked out great! I really like a recessed target crown on my barrels.

Cool, I want an HW80. My HW95 has the long barrel of an HW80. I used to like it, but then I realized that the longer barrel gives longer dwell time, affecting accuracy.
