help for a rws 460 under lever

I just got a RWS 460 with TO 6 trigger refurb from air gun depot for 320 shipped. The gun and stock was perfect seemed untouched by human hands. Believe it or not could not cock it. A lever that sticks up by the chamber rides back as you cock it was gouging into the stock not allowing it to go down a little to engage cocking slot. I was real disgusted. I did not want to take it apart but did so and saw a pin at the pivot point of the cocking lever did not go all the way thru.Put it back together it cocked twice and that was it. I read many reviews on cabelas site and at least half said cocking assembly broke the pin fell out etc. This is horrible for a gun costing that much Does anyone have experience with this problem on the 460?

I believe refurbs have a thirty day warranty. If it were truly refurbished one would think it would have been tested before shipping it out.
Return it for repair or replacement. It's not your problem.

You will get some that will try and assist but if it was bought real recent they should honor any issues with them. I would send back to get a replacement if you really like that platform or they can fix without a issue.
Almost sounds like your describing the ratcheting sound of the bear trap in a way and it hanging up. I am bad at trying to diagnose without seeing it in my hands.
I would look in all honesty to get a RMA to send back for them to fix for free.

What Michael said X2 have my 460 since last April and the only problem to date was a broken main spring that was at least partly my fault from shooting to light pellets

Thanks for the replies. I got it from airgun depot and I spoke with a guy and he send they would send me return number. He mentioned maybe to pay the 10 bucks so they fire it ten times. It is suprising they did not test it when refurbed. I took it right out the box and it would lock when trying to cock. What I am worried about is the flimsy pin at the pivot point of the cocking lever and after reading the reviews of the guys that said theirs broke there (if you can believe reviews) but I do see what they mean. Any way they said they would not be getting more in until early summer

I hope you get that small, but large, problem sorted real soon. Small because it maube can be remedied very easily. Large because it may stop you from actually being able to use or fire the gun. Annoying whichever way you look at it...
I wanted, and still want to actually buy a 460. Just love its looks and potential. I had my chance but wound up getting a 470TH instead which I am quite taken by,, if you had one, you'd understand why. Although I haven't used it really at all, I just love its real "killer" looks. It has to be the loveliest looking air rifle that I've seen in a long while - just beautiful, even with it's thumbhole styled stock which I usually don't get into... However, the other day I picked it up and wanted to just put a few rounds through it and as I tried to cock and load it (you have to remember here that the 470TH is basically a 460 slightly modded), anyway, I pulled down on the cocking lever and it locked in the fully cocked position, couldn't pull the trigger or return the handle to its closed position. This had me stumped, thinking I couldn't uncompress that spring. It wasn't until I fully pushed down on the cocked handle again and it went "click", that I realized I hadn't actually fully cocked it. The safety or anti-beartrap hadn't engaged, yet it had, as I couldn't pull the trigger at all. I've fired the 470 before but just forgot that you have to push, or pull, down fully on the handle to complete the full cocking of the device. After that, and after the sweat that quickly accumulated on my forehead in a bit of a panic was wiped away, I continued on as if nothing had happened at all...

Gunner al I tried pulling down with a lot of pressure but the lever that is next to the chamber rides to the back as you pull on the cocking arm is digging into the stock which I guess is keeping it from engaging the linkage to lock it cocked
