I recently purchased a FWB 65, from an ebay seller. The gent was honest and said he knew absolutly nothing about them, but that it seemed to shoot strong. It came in late last week and I chronographed it at 420fps, which should be good, but I started noticing a few particles of tannish material in the breech end of the barrel after shooting, and some deterioration of the conical blue seal. I contacted Mr Slade at Airgunwerks and he said not to shoot it any more as that might cause more damage to a beartrap and increase repair cost, so I immediately packed it off and shipped it out to him for repair.
I made the purchase knowing it might need new seals and possibly a spring considering the age. Looking at the sellers pictures it looked to be in almost perfect condition, all blueing intacted, no wear, or scratches, just some gray white discoloration on the grips. I cleaned them with some mineral spirits and applied some high quality shoe polish followed by some Renaissance wax and they look good now. I suspect when I get it back with new seals and possibly a mainspring it will be a good shooter.

Excellent purchase Jeff.
Duckfish (here on the GTA) bought one awhile ago and he had it rebuilt by PILKIN.
They do fine work as they rebuild all of our collegiate shooting teams guns.
He found it difficult to cock after the rebuild and he gave it to me to break in for him.
I put 1000 CPH pellets through it and he was able to cock it.
There is a routine you should employ.
while pulling back on the cocking arm, plush forward with your right hand holding the grip.
Then it will be as smooth as glass.
Good luck.

I quickly discovered another method. I hold the barrel against my right thigh and pull the lever back, takes some of the strain off my right hand.
I have a Walther LLP53 with a stuck piston I plan on sending to Pilk when I get some specialty upgrade parts in from the UK They are the only ones I found that said that they could work on that model.
