I just got an old Walther LP 53. What would be the best lube for the piston seal, not knowing the material. Neatsfoot oil or silicone oil.

I'd go with pure silicone oil, neatsfoot can detonate.

Any recommendations on someone to rebuild a LP 53, it looks to be a bit out of my comfort zone.

Motor head can fix anything!
John in Pa I'm sure would do fine.
David Slade in Tennessee, who specialises in older airguns. Not cheap!

Thanks for the links. Mine is a very early one, it would have a leather seal, wouldn't it ?
