I'm buying a xs60c in .22 from flying dragon, I've read quite a bit about them an just thought why not for the price. I got the max tune just wondering a couple things, from reading co2 guns like heavier pellets would slugs work? If so would it have any big difference? And what would be the max hunting range for these they seem to be really accurate but obviously I'll put in the research time when I receive the gun but thought I ask some of you smarter than me people out there

Michael I purchase one of the XS60C's 4 months ago when Flying dragon first got them back in stock for sale. I haven't really had much experience with it yet because here
where I live it was too cold outside for shooting a co2 gun and I figured I'd wait til warmer weather arrived. The gun in my opinion is by today's standards more heavy duty
than anything else in the same category, I still haven't put any shots over the chrony with it but I will soon hopefully. Our squirrel season isn't over until March 31st so most of
my shooting will be out on the state land that I hunt a lot.

Call Mike, he can probably answer the slug question. Personally I would stay with pellets,

I got one in .177 because he didn't have any in .22 at the time. It's very accurate, at 20 yds I'm shooting sparrows in the head no problem.

Thanks dudes! Mine should be here tomorrow I believe so if a winter storm does delay it, I was just wondering about the slugs if anyone tried it. But Would 40 yards be a push for this gun would it have killing force for small game ie. Squirrel rabbit? From reading about it,up to 20 yards seems legit for game just wondering about how lethal it is at alittle bit more range I don't have a crony to test so..

I have killed quite a few squirrels with my .22. These are Chinese airguns so you can get a dud. Most owners have found the guns to be very accurate though. Mine has the full power tune. It is about two years old and the only issue I have had so far is it wears out the chamber sealing Oring that goes under the piercing cap. Just order a half dozen from the Oring store and you'll be set.
Mine gets approximately 25 full power shots out of two cartridges at 90 degrees Farenheit. At 70 degrees it will get 15-20 full power shots. It will shoot 18gr Air Arms Diabolos very accurately to 40 yards. It is tuned to about 14.5 fpe with 16-18 grain pellets.

Baseing off some youtube vids that have shots with cronyied fps. I used those numbers for a loose idea on chair gun, it only makes me more excited than I was to also hear others say it's lethal at 40 yards. Hopefully it's not a dud in the end
nice murder noodle kill btw

Good thing about FD air rifles, when you get Mikes tune you get his warranty also

Good choice...Mike knows his co2 rifles.
Was designed to be “better” than the QB’s; most buyers are quite happy with them. Can
not say that it is better than a slicked up QB, but out the bbox (no smoothing up) think the Xs 60c is more user ready.
In your case, winter temps are pretty cruel to co2. Chrono it in the warm.

Ups kinda not worthy but I got it! At midday it hit 50 degrees where I'm at so I put some shots down range. Dumb accurate I'm sure it'll still improve with warm weather which I'll re-sight in but still I'm very happy with it, used the hawk app zeroed at 10 yards but was still basically on at 40 used cros-magnums and some gamo 21g cause that's what I've got and even with differences in weight both where grouping nicely

Sounds like you got a good one. For testing I can shoot mine at pretty close to full power on cold days by laying the gun on a heating pad between shots. Spread a towel over the gun if its really cold.

For CO2, polyurethane is preferable. At least for the end cap because other materials will swell and interfere with the cap from being reinstalled when swapping cartridges.
The size for both the valve and end cap is -113.

The design of these guns enables a person to not have to worry about keeping co2 in these guns for a very long time and Jason hit it on the money for using
a urethane o ring -113, that o ring that comes with them will last for a very long time if the gun is new. I've got some vintage Crosman airguns that I've kept c02
in them for a year easily. That gun is actually a similar design to the Crosman 160 and those were one heck of a design with many of them still in service that
are well over a half century old.

CONGRATS!
I have had my FDAR XS60C in .22 from Mike for several years (8/17). I requested a mid-level tune with the gun focused more on accuracy than power.
It does come with a power adjuster in the form of hammer spring tension but I have had no need to touch it from where Mike set it originally.
It is jaw dropping accurate out to 35 yards with the JSB 15.89g or H&N 14.66g FTT's in the 5.53 head size... (Better than the 5.54 or 5.55 but not by much).
If the opportunity presented itself, I would not hesitate to take a head-shot on a Bunny at 40y.
Built like a tank... and VERY easy on the eyes.

This thread has inspired me to go out and shoot my FD-PCP .22 today.
It's one that Mike converted to HPA from the GEN I guns that were discontinued.
Still very accurate. Mine has a Stalwart massaged trigger group in it and an old school Betty Lou jail house coffee stain refinish on the stock.
