So, planning ahead to a reliable chrony showing up at my door, what software is out there for pellet trajectory? I used to use the Hawke/Chairgun, but it is out of date and no longer works. I know that there is no substitute for actually shooting at various distances, but I am now constrained to 25 yards max and there isn't much change in trajectory over most of those 25. Absent the field work, trajectory software can be a useful guide for those longer shots. Not thinking scope specific, but more generic, inches, like we all used to do before scopes got fancy with MOA and other reticles. I used to be pretty good at holdover even without all them lines all over the reticle. So, what are you using? Free, I hope.
personally i would pick any free one and also have done your actual field data and compare the two and make any adjustments to the online one accordingly
I'm also running Hawke Chairgun and Strelok on my Linux laptop, don't run the old desktop machine anymore. You didn't mention what OS you use. I dropped MS WIndoze 20 years ago +++ so can't help there. Forgotten... Now of course, Chairgun is officially deceased and Strelok is banned because of U.S. troubles with current Russian situations. I have a copy of Chairgun 3 and Chairgun 4 installation files in my archives if anyone needs them. PM me...Linux runs either one in WINE. In the meantime I'm trying Chairgun Elite on my Android devices, without technical problems so far.Since my last purchase of an Element Helix scope I've recently installed MERO and Element Ballistics programs, all available from Google Play.Unfortunately I'm burdened with Parkinsons and losing my abilities to think quickly and accurately. And remember things....Figures...
