Just got in a FWB 80, courtsey of a gent on this forum Davidd63, I think, my computer with all the correspondence and ordering is in the shop right now and I am not absolutly sure of that. He stated it had been used for matches, but tried it before I bought and told me the velocity which was in specs and gave a good discreption, actually describing it as worse than it is. He said some rust, and yes there is some freckeling on the barrel, on spot showing a little dark orange. I took a new drill bit and some oil and using the shank end of the bit rubbed the spots out, not completely gone but that seems to crunch in the rust and make it blend in. You can see it if you look close, but it is not readily visible nor can you now feel it. I just need to remember to keep it rubbed down with some RIG. I had wanted to get a 65, or better an 80 years ago but life got in the way, buying a house, raising a son and sending him through college and law school took a toll on some of my life pleasures, but am now indulging is some in my old age.

I believe last of the FWB 65+ pistols. Perhaps the finest spring powered 10M pistols ever.
SWEET!

They did have the FWB 90, which had an electronic trigger. I did not want to go that route.

How do the grips feel?
I know they were intended to be fitted to the shoots hand, just wondering how the previous owner and you compare in size?
Oh and FYI...

I love these old German Pistols! FWB-65 & FWB-80. I can still visualize the old early 80s Beeman catalog with them on the cover. Boy oh Boy!

Grips are fine, they appear to be unaltered.

I purchased a really nice 80 several years ago, it came in the original styrofoam box with front sight inserts and two sets of weights. It hadn't been shot enough to wear the bluing off the breech. The buffer had degraded, and I had to take it apart to install a new one, so I went ahead added new springs and resealed it while it was apart. Overhauling one is not for the weak of heart. LOL
If you want to have some fun shoot it off a bag at 10M, I've shot mine in a benchrest match or two off a bag against rifles and have always done well.
