i decided to do a barrel feature. i mulled around comps, brakes and ldc's. then decided on an ldc.
after looking through all my parts bins i found an old D-cell maglite, 3 cone nozzles from a hypertherm 125 plasma cutter, stainless washers, a spring, the top hat off a schwinn tire pump and a 1/2 inch conduit clamp.
the cones fit perfectly (1-3/8 dia) into the maglite body. slipping a washer over the step tip of the plas cones worked great to make K-baffles.
once notched the conduit clamp fit snuggly around the factory sight, this way the ldc is easily removable and incorporates the factory sight.
lucked out with the pump tophat too (1-7/16 dia) works great as a front cap.
no crono on hand, but i can tell its gained some fps by the sound when it hits my 1" solid wood target board. not to mention that and the spring is the ONLY sound heard now.

You may not have gained FPS, but possibly accuracy. The perceived sound difference less from the muzzle, so you hear more from the point of impact IMO

There's a few apps for measuring decibels, but I like Science Journal:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.forscience.whistlepunk&hl=en_US
The tests on my QB-78 show 80db prior to LDC and like 30db after.
I made mine from cardstock and Elmer's. :/

I guess it depends on what you consider "into it".
Mine is 1 sheet of letter card stock for the shroud and barrel adapter, 2 for the baffles, and 1~2 to expand the barrel adapter.
So like a quarter maybe?
It did take some time, so if I paid myself to make this thing, it'd cost $100.
This is the 4th one I've made. The first one was some kind of magical fairy-dust gold nugget or something. Absolutely perfect in every way. Except for one thing. Second one was too big and shadowed my scope. Third was too skinny.
This should be my holy grail. Optimized down to 5 sheets of cardstock and should be whisper quiet on my QB-78.

i ended up going to a brass slip on adapter with twin set screws and a flush mount end cap.
looks alot cleaner, ill post more pics soon.
the ldc took it from 85-95db at muzzle to 35-40db, also groupings got slightly tighter.
