OK all, just bought an older R9 in .177 but curiously it has a silver trigger and an HW95 style stock. Serial# 163XXXX puts it around 2005.
Seems like a previous owner either set it up the way they wanted/made some repairs, or perhaps they made them that way. I have no idea.
My 1997 R9 in .20 has the gold trigger and the HW style stock, came with the very nice Japanese Bushnell Trophy 4-12 AO (this one does too) so I suppose it could be original.
Anyway, if anyone has any insight please let me know.
I'd post a pic but the dealer has already taken the listing down.
Thanks all!

I don't understand. What's your question about the rifle? Stock? Scope?
-
Sorry Ron.
Boiled down - is a 2005 R9 with silver trigger and non-Luxus style stock OEM correct?

There have been several variations. I have seen older R9’s as you described with the 95 style stock and silver rekord. Then the gold trigger rifles with fixed muzzle brakes. And now gold triggered R9’s with iron sight only options.

Thanks Jason.
Maybe I can find a 2005 catalog scan online...

My 2000 R9 has a Hw95 stock and silver trigger and it was some sort of special edition

I have a 164...... with silver trigger and ambi/high-comb/no-cheek-piece/extended-forearm stock.
I also have a 2000-ish with silver trigger and basic stock.
-
Thank you Dan.
I also saw a 2007 photo scan that showed the 95 with silver trigger, old school stock and a barrel weight.
It's looking more and more like it is original.
Still hoping someone has a 2005 catalog and can really pin it down, but no worries.
I'll see it Sunday, but from the owners over the phone assessment it seems like a very nice rifle either way.

Not the greatest pics, but the Beeman webpage shows plain stock and silver trigger in Oct 2005.

Oops - wrong number. It's a 1998...

Here's a late 1999 r9 webpage from beeman

Well, I took my foster brother to shoot a little today and we sighted this in at 25 yards. Two sight adjustments to then 3 shots with H&N FTTs made this little 3 shot group before I handed it off to him. Happy new owner.

How are you guys dating your R9's?
Mine came to me 2nd hand and I have no idea of it's age.
It is serial # 2019264... so is it the 264th gun built on 2019?
It has the gold trigger in a Deluxe checkered stock... no sights, muzzle weight on front and not drilled for the rears... scope only.

Scott I'm pretty sure there's a Weihrauch serial number database on the net. I don't usually care enough about age to look for it. It's there to be found.
IMO your R9 is the best package ever offered. The only way it could be better IMO is if it was in 20 caliber. My 22 Hw95 Field Pro is a very similar package with a muzzle weight and a Luxus stock. I think it's my most ergonomic and pretty springer.

Thanks Ron!
I agree... she is amazing but doesn't get the attention she deserves and I've been trying to rectify that lately.
It has been seldom shot because of my AA TX-200, HW-98, and the R10 in .20. ::)

Those are great guns as well. I was referring to it as the best R9 package offered. After responding to your post I was enthused and went down the basement and shot the Field Pro a bit.

Some people have been building an observed serial#/date database on line. Not definitive but it will get you into horseshoes range anyway.
I'm the opposite of Ron - I like to know. Maybe because of my manufacturing background. I will say that my 1996 Goldfinger feels hand fit, while the modern refurb feels better machined and less fit. Both excellent, but the old one is "buttery". I love that. It makes working the action on that rifle a special treat.
After i spent some time hand fitting high speed tooling, etc over the years, I devoloped a real appreciation for that work done right.
The '96 has it, and quite possibly the modern one doesn't need it because of what I assume are machining improvements at the factory. I don't know when and how (or even if) the manufacturing methodologies have evolved over the years at HW, but it does intrigue me. I like to think we that could infer the changes if we had enough oversight of the rifles over long time periods.
Or if we had someone who was Hector's counterpart at HW to spill the beans... 😁
