If you cut off more coils to reduce the spring’s force further, could you stack more washers in there so the spring still has a touch of preload but less power? I’m sure someone has tried that before but I’m not experienced enough as an airgun tinkerer to know what would happen.
Shot the rifle at lunch time today about 50 shots. 1" offhand groups so far, may be me more than the rifle.Still seems harsh, I wonder if it would help to remove the heavy steel tophat?Pat

"Still seems harsh, I wonder if it would help to remove the heavy steel tophat?"PatWhat is a heavy steel tophat?
If that brass looking washer comes off you could molly it up and put it or a couple like it in front of the spring.Did you happen to measure the diameter of the piston seal and how does it attach to the piston?

Part of why I purchased this rifle was to experiment. Micheal above posted in another thread about this rifle that he was concerned with reducing the spring power too much with such a heavy piston would increase the lock time too much, adding inaccuracies.Do you have one of these rifles?Pat

If I go step by step it is not that bad for me. Just not sure of my ability to describe how it goes. The trigger does not have to be removed completely to get the spring and even the piston out if needed.Pat,Even a rough outline of the steps in the process would be helpful. I don’t know if anyone has ever ordered a piston seal or spring for one. I have been looking for an older post where a guy made a plastic shim to hold the sear in place during reassembly. Then after the trigger group was in place pulled the shim out because the shear was hanging things up. At least that’s what I thought he was doing. Like you say it is hard to describe these things and hard to understand descriptions sometimes also. Do you think the factory uses shims or just multiple pairs of hands and picks?
