Hello all,I finally ordered a Beeman R7. I'm really excited about this one and hope it's as good as everyone says. I've been reading about the R7/HW30 for years on this forum and couldn't resist any longer. I have a brand new UTG bug buster 3-9x32. Is this a good fit for this rifle? I ordered UTG medium rings with the pin stops built in. Hopefully these mounts work OK. I do plan to shoot with the open sights at first. It's arrives tommorow. Can't wait. If I really like this one, I might have to order a HW50 in .22. from Krale. I should have ordered the HW30s from Krale as it's cheaper, but I bought the Beeman R7 from pyramyd. It's okay though, they have always fixed any issues I've ever had quickly.
Bugbusters are a little too short for my liking. A compact 2-7 x 32 is better IMO. Weren't Bugbusters made for the AR platform? IDK. The IR is mostly just added weight.
Thanks guys,Can't wait for the new rifle. If the bug buster seems to be a bad fit, I was thinking about buying a Hawke Vantage 2-7-32. I'll see how it goes. Those open sights look nice enough to at least try them for a bit. I like iron sights but I'm thinking to get the most out of this accurate rifle(hopefully) I'll probably end up scoping it. I'm going to do the buy 3 tins get one free deal on pellets. I didn't realize how few I had lying around, most of my guns are .22 or .25. What 3 kinds should I try first. I know jsb 7.33s are on the list. Any thing else I should give a try. I have tins of crosman premiers, h and n barracuda, and RWS Hobbies.

The Hawke medium 2 pc mounts should be fine. If you don't need the stop pin leave it out. Try n see. I bet you don't if you clean everything first. I don't like the gack mark they leave. I don't use them.

I don't use them.?? Gackmarks ?? Talk about Gack? Talk about that crummy friction tape those Chinese rings use to make up for poor machining and or design. The stuff gets soft in the sun and promotes the scope slippage. Then leaves sticky adhesive residue on the scope and rings that you have to clean off with mineral spirits. Use the Sportsmatch T02C. They use a larger rolled spring steel pin with adjustable depth. They hold secure without leaving a mark if your smart enough to read instructions. Genuine Sportsmatch rings are made in the UK specifically for 11mm airgun dovetails. Their machining, materials and hardware is light years better than the Hawke knock offs of them or any other cheap Chinese rings like the UTG. And they aren't expensive. AoA has them. The T02C are medium height and work well on the Hw30s. Here's two sets of them on a couple 30s. One with a 2-7x32 Airmax the other 2-7x32 Vantage IR
