I just put a new Co2 cartridge in my C600 and the first three shots fired ok, then maybe two more out of the next five. I then unloaded the magazine, made sure that there was no pellet remaining in the barrel or feed arm.
The pistol will not fire (or dry fire) completely as if the hammer is not falling far enough to hit the valve also seen by the feedarm falling short of complete rotation. It takes some effort to put the hammer back in the firing position, like it is hanging up on something. I bought it used in 2019. In May 2020 I put in a new ebay valve, cam, cam ring and seals. Since then it has had 264 Co2 cartridges and about 8,500 pellets through it. My first thought is the cam ring is worn out, but it's stopping as if it in a "half-cock" mode. So now I'm thinking that it is one of the three sears that is worn.
This is not a real pleasant pistol to tear into on any day, but my concern is how do I disarm the full Co2 cartridge on my terms? Any ideas would be appreciated.

That sux !! Try cooling the co2... either placing pistol in frig or freezer.
See if that method will loosen the cap cylinder.

You can try pulling back hard on the cocking lever while squeezing the trigger and returning the cocking lever full forward in one motion,
the trigger should move but not fire, then fully cock it with the safety off, finger off the trigger and see if she fires.
Hopefully it's a simple fix.

Acapulco, that's a good idea.
Rich, I tried that with the same result. Looks like the sideplate is coming off next. Then maybe the freezer.

Hi Floyd, there are a few things you can check without the need to degass…
Check the feed arm to barrel gap and make sure you have at least .002”
Check the feed arm attachment to the cam. The cam should be free to float and it is positioned by the feed arm setscrews that are located into the cam recess. There are two setscrews, one on top of the other. If the top one is loose, the bottom one will also be loose and that’s a problem.
You may want to check the cam for alignment issues. Remove the feed arm setscrews and backplate so you can pull out the cam. Make sure it’s straight by spinning in a lathe, mill, drill press etc. Also paint a layer of moly or similar lube on the cam prior to reassembly.
Check the trigger group’s stop roller and stop to see if it’s misaligned and causing binding issues. A good way to check is by removing them to see if that fixes the problem.
Remove the stop roller and stop…
Removed…
While the stop roller and stop are removed, make sure the pawl is not broken (triangular component that disengages the link from the lever catch) …
Lastly, if the action problem is not in the upper assembly then it might be in the hammer.
The hammer has an internal oring that rides and seals to the valve o.d. This oring needs to be in good repair and lubed with a dry lube like graphite or similar
hth…

Success! After lazily checking the trigger group I pulled the cam/feed arm and there it was - a jammed pellet. As you can see the red dot mount hides the feed arm "chamber".
Finding that pellet there was scary. I thought I was pretty diligent checking the barrel and feed arm for a pellet when changing Co2 cartridges or when finished shooting.
It looks like adding a hole in the RDS mount will move up on the to do list.
Thanks everyone for your help.

New issue - same C600. It's been running well until last week when randomly the trigger did not want to reset. This C600 does have the Pilot pen spring installed (trigger) for the last year or so. Today, the trigger has finally failed to reset each time. It cycles correctly except for the trigger. Pulling the trigger forward will reset it.
My guess is that the pawl spring (item 63) is weak.
Any ideas?

Don't know if this was the root cause, but backing off the side plate screws just slightly resolved the issue.

Hi again, Floyd. That's one way to resolve the issue.
Removing the stop roller and stop is another way. I'm assuming here (and I may be wrong) that the stop is binding on the side plate.
That would cause a hanging trigger and it sounds like the problem, but there could be other issues.
There was a discussion about this just a while ago:
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=201844.0
I removed some metal (circled in red) from the side plate to provide clearance for the stop:
Had to do that to all of mine. Seems like I read somewhere that Crosman had a revised side plate when they added the stop roller and stop...
If so, it doesn't look like very many got that addition... don't really know. hth-

I went the other direction by adding 4 layers of electrical tape on the three "corners" of the side plate. That finally provided enough clearance.
