Anyone use some kind of repeating air rifle and moving target to work on this skill?
I don’t own a shotgun and nobody’s ever taken me clay shooting.
Thank you

I have seen on Youtube where they taped 2 clay pigeons together so they were more stable to roll on the ground, they had a ramp to release the target and it would roll across the ground for a good distance before it ran out of steam or was shot. Have not tried it yet but plan to.

Just a couple weekends ago while out in the Nevada Back country ( At the Nevada FT State Championship & GP ) we had 2" long x @ 5/8" round MORMON CRICKETS all around us all weekend by the Zillions !!!
Constantly moving unless eating a fallen comrade or lemon rind as shown below, shot up an entire 500 count tin of .177's doing just that ... Moving target practice and IT WAS FUN !!

Tragic... simply tragic... so sorry for you.
The game of Skeet helped my keep my sanity (somewhat) for decades.
Get a cheep hand thrower and a box of clays and you can "roll" it instead of flying it if you want... but it takes two or more people.

I'm a poor wingshot, and almost never hit a moving target with a rifle. However, one night I was hog hunting and using a mono-pod shooting stick. Hit it 5 for 5 on the run. The shooting stick allowed me to track smoothly without the up/down motion of trying to free hand.
I like Back Roads suggestions of an elevated ramp and shooting clays. Sounds like fun with the AEA HP Carbine!

In Germany they shoot (well, they used to) shoot a game called Moving Target.
They used low powered 10M type rifles with special sights or low powered scopes.
The target (a deer, later a pig) would move slowly across your field of view.
You would aim at the nose of the animal and hopefully strike the target somewhere in the bullseye area.
The targets:
