Jimmy, my gosh you set a high bar to reach. Some day, some day.
Submission for Match 8Shooting Date: 11/20/20Shooter:Jimmy FussellDistance: 100 yards from back porchGun: FX BossOptics: Sightron SIII 10-50x60 on 30 power zeroed at 100ydsAmmo: JSB 30 cal 44.75 grainWind: none50/50; 4x , 0.64" CTCPosition: Bench Rest standing; Rear Bag and Atlas clone BipodI actually started shooting earlier in the day and groups looked terrible in 3 to 4 mph winds. I gotta face it, I just not so good at shooting in the wind? But, I left everything set up and would come out on the back porch from time to time and try my luck. The winds died almost completely as it got dark.At 5:30 pm with a flash light on targets I came within a gnats arse of hitting my first 5x?? That's the one I'm submitting. And at 6:00 pm I did it again and the group was actually 0.03" smaller! So the moral of the story is "a blind hog can find an acorn twice if he looks hard enough"!!!!First two pics are for submission. Second two pics are whoops I did it again! Both groups so close to the golden 5X , but no cigar?
Tom, my hat is off to you for shooting the 9.5 Lockdown. Wow, you are really getting into the target shooting. Most of my shooting is done in calm or dead calm winds. You guys that read the wind and shoot are my heroes. Especially when you can do it with .22 cal.Now if I could just motivate myself to get out there tonight and try it with the .25 cal FX500?
Oh, if anyone is interested , here's info on the Pocket size MOA ruler
I figured I'd post this for Tom if no one else is interested and also Marty, if you want to make my poor score with my FX500 .25 cal a submission I'm game for that.I should have listened to Tom and cracked a beer. Was doing so poorly I didn't want to waste the paper, so used my old Boss targets and just marked me a new point of aim to shoot at. Used my clear 2.5 moa ruler to score them after the fact. I think you can tell I didn't cheat? LOLBest score of the day was a 49/50 1x with a whopping 1.80" ctc so submit that if it's ok with everyone? LOLBest group of the day was a 0.93" ctc but only scored a 47/50Here's 4 targets with first one for possible submission? LOL
Yes Tom, I was aware of the submission for each caliber, but my target wasn't within the guidelines because I reused an old target and scored it after the fact with the MOA ruler. It was and embarrassing score to say the least and thought it would look cool to have one of the higher scores in the match along with the lowest score in the match? LOLThe squirrels got it made around here. I feed them just like I do the deer and the rest of the critters that wonder into the yard.
Jimmy, your targets may be printed undersize.... but more likely you are seeing the difference between the 1" "X" ring we use for NUAH, and an actual MOA, with is 1.047".... For simplicity, we use 1" as 1 MOA for NUAH.... It's in the rules.... The 8 ring should measure 4.000" if printed at 100%....Bob
