I shot my new Umarex Ruger Mark IV for a few minutes after Ch**ch. The Summertime heat has returned. It was HOT and HUMID out there. The Heat index is at 97° at 1700 CT.This little pistol took a little getting used to. The trigger is HEAVY but breaks clean. After about 20 shots at 5 yds I had reduced my group down to 1-1/2". I had found a tin of the now discontinued Hatsan Vortex pellets 7.5 gr and that's what I was shooting.
I like doing similar things whenever I find oversized ingots of gold or platinum.

I’ve got a big jar of 6000 rusty Crosman Copperhead BB’s. Today I put approximately a pound and a half of them in a heavy duty ziplock bag. I took the rubber butt pad off of my .22 cal Crosman Summit Ranger. I taped the bag closed and positioned it low and back near the butt inside the hollow plastic stock. Then I took the handle end of a screw driver and packed plastic grocery bags tightly into the remaining space in the stock to prevent anything from moving and to deaden sound reverberating from the hollow stock. I screwed the butt pad back on and was finished.Outcome: The rifle balances much better. There is no feeling of muzzle heaviness. The rifle points about as quickly as it did before re-balancing but it feels noticeably heavier. Not unpleasantly heavy more like reassuringly solid. I’m going to carry it for a week or so and see how I like it. If I think it’s necessary I’ll take half pound or so of weight out but I’m really liking the balance right now.
Puttering around and organizing the bar/mancave I found no less than 15 airgun related projects in a variety of states of completion. There won't be no 'counting flowers on the wall' around here.
