Where is the barrel bending tool? I did a quick search and couldn't locate it.ThnxGil
New Michigan member looking for assistance. I have a Trail NP2 in 22 caliber that is about 3 years old. Purchased to control a ground hog varmint situation. For the first two years my initial “shooting” distance was between 3 to 4 inches so I didn’t need the scope that came with the rifle. Last fall I joined a 10 meter air rifle league and have discovered this thing has so much droop that it is basically worthless. I’ve now spent more on scopes and rings (lapped & shimmed) than I paid for the “rifle”, this includes FX No Limit rings ($80). Purchased a Hawke scope that has run out of elevation / windage adjustments. Have also tried 15 different types of pellets; 1,000+ rounds fired. Does anyone know if I can replace the barrel with a match barrel? Does a “match” barrel exist? I’ve done barrel replacements on my AR15 & Ruger 10/22. Does simply repeated cocking of the rifle cause the droop? Everything is torqued to spec (pivot screw to 40 in/lbs, etc). Should I call it a day and beat this thing to death with a hammer? Any recommendation for a GREAT air rifle gunsmith to fix this “rifle”? See attached POA to POI target at 10 meters.
First, you are asking a sledge hammer to do the job of a watchmaker's hammer. Second, mine will do about 1/4" to 3/8" at twenty yards. I would get a dedicated 10 meter rifle. Then I would put a target at twenty, center the scope and bend the barrel to match POA to POI as close as possible.
a droop compensating mount solved several of my german, china and turkish gun's droop problems. my old diana34 was about the worst...it took the DN460 utg mount that i modified.
