Back Room / Re: So if you didn't do anything airgun related what did you do today?« Last post by Rabbit\Squirrel Killer on Today at 12:53:46 AM »I mowed for about 3 1/2? hours. I don't know the length of time for sure, I stopped for lunch when it started to sprinkle and wasn't watching the clock. When I noticed the sun was back out I got back to it, I do know I went through almost two tanks of gas.
No real rain, we ended up just getting a few sprinkles that dried up very quickly! I got about 2/3-3/4 of the place mowed including the worst of the hills so, the rest will be easy. I am taking tomorrow off though. 5
Crosman-Benjamin Air Gun Gate / Re: Crosman 3622S w/ steel breech« Last post by K.O. on Today at 12:49:45 AM »Thanks everyone for all the great ideas. I might try something different but for now I am staying with the 2240 hammer spring. For one thing, early on when I was installing the steel breech, I tried to turn what I thought was an adjustable hammer spring nut and somehow ruined the 3622 hammer spring. had a 2289 clone that I sent lead with... more .6" groups than .75 or .5" with cphp bout 600 fps 30-35 yards in decent conditions... bout 20 shots off a 1500 psi fill within bout 4% of each other I would be able to use that... in the end it's about balancing the port with the hammer spring... here is a link to some of Bob's testing at 2000 psi... basically it shows using a bit more hammer than you need and cutting off flow to flatten the curve...imo... https://hardairmagazine.com/ham-columns/the-effect-of-port-sizes-on-pcp-airgun-power/ Now the curve ball is the small valve intake they used to "regulate" the 3622 compared to the disco valve Bob used... read a post in a thread someone said the t-port is about .120" so the valve intake passage should be about that +10% or so... so is a non-issue if going with smaller than stock t-port... 1500 psi and less hammer spring is easier on the equipment...honestly do not know if the perfect balance of porting/spring would get you nearer to a 2% string or many more shots off a 2000 psi fill... 6
Vintage Air Gun Gate / Re: Benjamin model 177« Last post by xcalibur on Today at 12:42:11 AM »According to the 1935–1936 Instructions, "Three or four pumps are ample for ordinary use."
This is also stated in the 1938 Instruction Sheet, which also adds, "Five or six pumps give maximum shooting force." Remember that after the first shot, fewer pumps will likely be needed because, if fully charged, all of the air will probably not be released. It is a good idea to play around with your specific pistol to find that sweet spot where every shot leaves the chamber empty. 7
Pellets all calibers / Re: Barracuda Green listed @ 12.65gr« Last post by NorCal David on Today at 12:38:30 AM »My 22 cal Dragonfly 2 likes the Baracuda Greens 12.96g. It is multipump and I usually pump 6 to 8 times for them. It likes the FTT Green too at 9.56g and the more expensive GTO 11.75g. It does not like Gamo PBA at all, horrible. Nor the JSB pb free Diablo Exact 11.75g, although they are not as bad as Gamos for that gun. So I stick with the top three.
