challenger trigger guard and mrod trigger on a disco (tips)

(1/1)

MustangMike:
ok so this might be a silly post but here are 2 mods i did to better my mrod trigger and challenger trigger guard on my disco

first off, most people screw the challenger trigger guard to the stock and while that mounting is fine and does work. if it gets bumped to much it can become loose or even break the stock where it mounts.. so what i did was take my tap and dye kit and tap the small hole in the mrod trigger group closest to the cover on the trigger group.. then found a bolt that will thread into the newly tapped threads and bolted the guard to the actual trigger housing

next, the disco hammer has a groove cut all the way around it and the mrod hammer does not. there are some reports of over time the sear breaking from smacking that groove during cocking and the shot cycle.. so another member here awhile back made a comment that he packed that groove with jb weld then wrapped the hammer tightly with packing tape.. well i did the samething and then took some sand paper and a small flat head screw driver and cleaned up the jb weld that oozed out after it had dried over night..
i paid extremely close attention to not touching the front of the hammer that the sear catches on when the rifle is cocked.. that way there is no accidently firing...

hope this might help some of you guys looking to upgrade ur disco to the beauty that is the mrod trigger
