Need help getting a new scope for my Weihrauch HW97K

(1/1)

DreamyWolf:
Greetings, fellow GTA members!

I own a year old Weihrauch HW97K in .177.
For the mount/scope combination, I bought Weihrauch's 3-9x40 scope with parallax adjustment and their one piece Dampa mount
(if I recall, it's a rebranded Sportsmatch Dampa). After around 2000 shots, I discovered that it is not holding zero anymore.
It doesn't happen dramatically after every shot, but it takes a few before I notice the pellet impact point going elsewhere.

Currently, I'm still in the middle of trying to get answers from Weihrauch about the scope's warranty because the info doesn't seem to exist online.
I felt it was a safe choice and I didn't hear bad stuff about it, but in hindsight I should have gone with a manufacturer that offers lifetime warranty.

Since the mount I bought is unfortunately just for 1-inch scope tubes, my choice is more limited than if I had gone with a 30mm.
I'd like a scope with higher maximum magnification than 9x, parallax mandatory, with my budget being around 300€.

* So far, my top candidate is MTC MAMBALITE 4-16X42 with a very thin, but illuminated reticle.
* Second in line would be HAWKE AIRMAX 4-12X40, but I'm not fond of its reticle being so thin that it gets difficult to see when put against
bushes, trees or targets with dark backgrounds. The illuminated airmax version is 30mm and twice (or more) as expensive.
* I heard good stuf about VORTEX DIAMONDBACK 4-16X42, however its parallax is only adjustable from 30 yards on,
and a lot of my live targets are closer than that.
* What do you think about the Vortex Crossfire II 1-inch scopes?

Your opinion as well as other recommendations would be much appreciated!

Stan

Roadworthy:
A 30 mm tube would be preferable to a one inch but since you're stuck there try to find a scope with an etched reticle, they're a bit more robust.

Unless I spend 90€ for the 30mm mount and then sell the 25mm one.
Any 30mm recommendations with etched reticles?

Thanks, I didn't know this about reticles! Gonna be difficult to find out unless I directly ask the manufacturer.
