Title: Chinese Airgun Portal
Post by: Brutuz on December 14, 2010, 11:10:20 AM
Chinese Airgun Portal

http://chineseairgunportal.brutuz.com/ (http://chineseairgunportal.brutuz.com/)

I've made this portal since I'm interested in Chinese rifles, hope those interested in them too will like it and hope it will be of use.

Also promoted the GTA after consulting Bob and Gene first and showing them the new portal, hope it will drive new members towards the GTA.

If there's anything missing or wrong please send me a PM, thanks  8)

Bert

Edited by CDT...12/19/10... this will be stickied so members interested in the Chinese guns can view it before it gets dropped down very far and lost. Bert has put a lot of effert and time into his website and the link above is significant to persons interested in the Chinese guns. His link will also be in the library.

Hey Brutuz just wanted to say thank you for building your portal. Its great. I did want to ask if there's a reason you didn't included Beeman's chinese rifles SS550, RS1, RS2, RS3. RS2 is an AR1000,TF 89 clone and I belive it's made in Shangai (i could be wrong). It should be of some help for people to know that.
Thanks again Brutuz for taking the time to build that portal.
I keep going back... ;D

I would love to find the XS-17 here in the U.S! (Diana 27 clone)

Great little rifle, low on power but enough and accurate too, 4th place in a UK HFT competition "springers / open sights" last year.

Made it 3rd and won a bronze medal with a .177 QB79 "non-recoiling/open sights" this year (last weekend)  8)

Hi Bert,

you have created a great website with a huge amount of useful information relating chinese airguns. Thank you!

I've two suggestions for your portal:

Clonelist: The Weihrauch HW40 (labeled Made in Germany) is still produced in China as Marksman 2004 Deluxe (labeled Made in China) and also sold under the Label Beeman P3.

Brands List: The Umarex Company is not a US brand. It was founded and is still located in Arnsberg/Germany. But Umarex is, as mentioned in your list, also a reseller in the US market.

I hope this information is useful for you.

Hello there,
Since most of the info here is way outdated, perhaps someone can help me?

I'm looking for other distributors of chinese air rifles than flyingdragon.
Already got a Xisico Co2 and the Bamboo XS25B from Mike.

But I'm particularly looking for one of those chinese thumbhole rifles - like  BAM B26-2 Thumbhole, or a Xisico XS25 Wood Thumbhole which are not offered on flyingdragon, or any equivalent with thumbhole stock, merely for optical and collecting reasons :)

Already checked on the internet but ther's almost nothing on those guns or other sellers of Chinese rifles.
So anyone knows other sources?

Regards
Daniel

Thx I checked the site, but it sells only the "standard" european brands I get in any other shop here aswell.

Also I read Chinese BAM rifles as such do not exist anymore? BAM seems to exclusively produce for Crosman and other companies now, no own guns?

I found an old .177 B1 in the back of a closet we cleaned out, I had bought it and another (Don't know what happened to the other) for my kids when they were 13- 14 or so for $15 each at a gun show.  It is the only springer I have ever had any experience with, and was probably 30 yrs old or so. I put about about 50 or so pellets through it after cleaning the bore, and it seemed to shoot pretty good. It had a tight breech (not seal, there was a bit of lead flashing that looked like thin aluminum foil in the breech after a few shots) and a good barrel, so I undertook a rebuild as per Mr. B.B.'s excellent writeup of a B1 rebuild. I broke it down, cleaned all parts with brake cleaner, and ordered a 25 mm piston seal conversion to replace the deteriorating leather seal, moly gun grease and heavy tar from Vortek. The piston seal was too loose, so they kindly swapped it for a 26 mm seal kit, which fit perfectly. I found a couple of grade 8 washers at Lowes that were about the right size, ground and filed them to fit the piston and spring guide, and polished them to a mirror finish. Also polished the ends of the spring to a mirror finish and fitted the polished washers inside the piston and on the spring guide. Deburred all the internals, honed the compression tube, fitted an aluminum shim from a 20 oz Red Bull can (don't know how anybody could survive 20 oz of that) in the piston so the spring was tight, it must have taken 3 wraps of the aluminum can to fill the gap betweeen the spring and piston.  Fitted a new breech seal using a 1/4" faucet washer, and put the whole thing back together using a thin layer of the moly in the compression chamber and at each end of the spring where they bore against the polished washers, and on the trigger. Also slathered the heavy tar on the spring.  WOW!  I was AMAZED at the difference! I had not realized it, but the B1 rang and vibrated like a bell before the rebuild, and was smooth as silk after! After adjisting the front sight (dovetail) I can reliably hit a 12 oz soup can at a measured 33 yards with open sights. It has a smooth receiver, so can't mount a scope. It is shooting a bit faster than my 880 Crosman at 10 pumps, (don't have a chrony) so guessing at around 600 fps, maybe a tad faster.  It likes Benjamin 7.4 grain pellets. This has led me to get back into shooting, so I have ordered a .22 Benjamin Prowler and am rebuilding my old Crosman 1377.  I plan on taking the Prowler apart before shooting it and doing the deburring, honing and moly thing with it. Also cleaned up my old cap and ball Remington 1858 (manufactured in 1977), modded it a bit and will be headed to a range after I find some sheep tallow and beeswax.

That's awesome! Sounds like you're getting peak performance out of your B1. My new B1 shoots at around 430fps (chronied), so yours is doing better by leaps and bounds.

Personally I shoot mainly PCP's  although I do have a couple of CO2 pistols, but I was watching one of Airgun Detectives videos today on the QB 78 and found the price spread he was talking about a little weird as it was so great. I started looking around and he was correct depending on who you get it from it is very reasonable to almost cheap and then there were the same guns at three times the price. Amazon had that darn thing so low in price with free shipping that I though I would just order one and check it out. I have the 22 cal. coming so I hope after cleaning the thing that it does have way decent. I need a winter rifle to shoot down stairs anyway and this fills the bill.

Pretty sure it was Flying Dragon I got the new Breech seal from for my RWS 320M .177cal? Shoots well beyond that. Hard to find any info left on these guns on old forums and such. Many links no longer function to any info that was available. Copies of the Weirauch HW 90-95, true. But was told they aren't exactly alike internally. Like the breech seal I bought. a bit different size.

Hi Brutuz,

Don't know if you're still around, I just wanted to let you know about the Xisico XSP180 break-barrel pistol. I found out it's a close copy of a Diana 5G-TM pistol (with safety). IIRC it's not mentionned in your nonetheless very complete clone list (BTW, big thanks for that!). HTH.

All the best,

old: XISICO XSP180 = Zhejiang Xinhua XTS5

new: XISICO XSP180 = Zhejiang Xinhua XTS5, Diana 5G-TM, SMK25

I ordered a box of the XSP 120D's from Mike last year, I've got to start resealing these guns and I figured I'd ask around if anyone knows the o rings that are involved in resealing these guns, if not I'll start to measuring them and figure out just what I need for 10 sets for resealing these guns.  The worse part about these guns is the assembly pins have a tendency to creep in/out when shooting, I might use something to try keeping them
from creeping like they do before I get rid of them.  They really are a lot of fun to plink with in either caliber too because they come with both .177&.22 barrels 8)

I posted the oring list for the P17 on GTA a couple of years ago.
I will try to find it and post it here for you.

Found it.  Go to:
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=164972.0 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=164972.0)

This is a copy of the list:
I plan to mail 2 or 3 sets of P17 o-rings to people who will donate $5 or $10 to GTA.
To get your P17 o-ring sets:
1. Send an email to [email protected] with your name and address and tell me if you want 2 sets or 3 sets.
2. Put "Beeman P17 o-rings" in the subject of the email.
3. When you get your o-rings in the mail, donate $5 or $10 to GTA using the DONATION button at the top of this page.  The DONATION button is highlighted in yellow.

Each set of P17 o-rings includes 8 o-rings:
1 ea.  AS568-006 B70 (NBR) Buna-N Nitrile 70 Duro O-Ring    Valve 006
2 ea.  AS568-008 B70 (NBR) Buna-N Nitrile 70 Duro O-Ring    Valve and breech 008
1 ea.  2.5mm X 20mm (NBR) Buna-N 70 Duro Metric O-Ring    original piston seal
The above 4 o-rings should be all you need, but I am including the next 4 because some people use them.
2 ea.  AS568-009 B70 (NBR) Buna-N Nitrile 70 Duro O-Ring    Valve and breech 009
1 ea.  AS568-116 B70 (NBR) Buna-N Nitrile 70 Duro O-Ring    piston 116
1 ea.  AS568-117 B70 (NBR) Buna-N Nitrile 70 Duro O-Ring    piston 117

Instructions for P17 o-ring replacement from 45Bravo:
Take a look at ( I included the link to Part 5 which has links to Parts 1 thru 4 - Parts 1 & 2 are on re-sealing )
https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2019/08/beeman-p17-air-pistol-part-5/ (https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2019/08/beeman-p17-air-pistol-part-5/)
Part 1 tells how to replace the piston o-ring which is pretty easy.
Part 2 tells how to replace the 2 valve o-rings and is more difficult.
The breech seal is in full view when you open the P17 to load it.
If there is an easier way to replace the 2 valve o-rings please post the instructions with pictures.

I ordered 100 sets from The O-Ring Store and I plan to give 90 sets away.
