Title: PELLET FLARE TOOL
Post by: WHITEFANG on January 21, 2013, 10:20:59 AM
As requested here is the tool I made to flare the pellets for the Hatsan 135 .25. This is a practice bow arrow tip. I have ground the point off to allow the bevel not to bottom out in the pellet. Deer horn tip was used for the handle and with the curve it seems to work very well.

About a year ago, I bought out the remaining stocks of a gunshops JSB Polymags .22 (only about 6 or 8 tins). I got them at a good cheap price because new stocks weren't coming in for a while and these ones had been dropped while handling and dented an edge of the container leaving some skirts damaged,, not that badly either when I got them home, opened and looked at them. I got a 6.5mm stereo jack plug and filed away the pointed tip and that made a good simple pellet skirt flare tool. Worked a treat on the Poly's and the overall amount was about 50 of them in all of the tins and 3 I tossed out, so I got a real good deal, when added up...

Pic of a similar plug... (Hope it comes through)

Great!!! I thought you would like it. That designis much better than my first one thanks to you. The FTT's I can sit them on much shooting bench and take the flaring tool and insert it in the skirt area and roll the pellet around. Then be able to hold the pellet still in the tool and insert it in to the seat area. You can even get the pellets out of the tin and then roll them and insert them to shoot. GOOD DEAL!!!!
