I already have 2 nova liberties and was interested in the 300$ avenger from pyramid air. Has the wandering poi been solved? Is it just some gun? Is the avenger enough of a step up compared to the liberty to warrant a new gun. I've been trying to not make redundant purchases. I'd rather save for sometimes on a higher scale of gun.

You're gonna get opinions from both sides of that fence.
I don't know anything about wandering poi with my .25 Avenger.. never experienced it.
I can't compare to the Liberty either because I never owned one.
Basically all I can say is that I am happy with my Avenger. YMMV
I don't think I've ever asked members of this, or any other forum to help me pick a gun to purchase.
I think the replies would frustrate me even more. I've always done my research (pay attention to folks who know their stuff) and decided to my own taste, budget, and intended usage.
Good luck.

I have both and my Avenger does shoot more consistent than the Liberty.
I will say that the Avenger is the most accurate AG, out of the box, without any
adjustments or modifications that I have purchased. I don't like the plastic stock but it's OK as a
bang around in the woods.

I'm mostly concerned about poi issues . Some said they have problems and some dont. I've been wondering if theres something common among the ones that have the issue so I can avoid that. I'm mainly looking to the avenger to learn how to tune well. I've got the basics but I'd like something easily adjustable to play with and see where I end up with changing different tunes.

I guess my post is pointless because my wife has reminded me that we are not buying low price point guns anymore. We have too many that sit unused the way it is. So sorry community this quest is over before it starts. Thank you all.

x2 I have been thinking of thinning out the heard, been stealing scopes off my springers, as little as I shoot them I can probably do just as well with open sights, for the ranges I may still shoot them at on occasion.
Then there are some new PCPs that are not in the budget range that may have room to move in.

My 25 caliber Avenger was my second PCP and my first regulated one. Tuning it is definitely different from tuning my Prod. It's easier in some ways because I don't see the point in shooting in long shot strings. Just move the regulator and see what hammer spring setting fits that regulator setting. On many guns you could change the transfer port size too but that is threaded in the Avenger so it's best not to drill it out. The regulator and hammer spring adjustments are on the outside.
Mine leaked when I got it but AV fixed it under warranty and it is fine now. The POI does not move. I thinking moving POI is a scope issue in most cases, not a gun issue. I have a Donny FL adapter on mine and a home made moderator. It needs a moderator. About 110db without one. It is really long, especially with the moderator added. The as received trigger was pretty bad but with a longer sear adjustment screw it is pretty good. Still not super light but light enough and nice and crisp.
With JSB or JSB made pellets it is very accurate. It shoots pretty big groups with other pellets. It is more pellet sensitive than my Prod or P35.
I like my P35 more because it is so much shorter and a little lighter. But so far it is not as accurate. My Prod was not as accurate either, however, but seems to be now. I think it finally got broken in well. The Avenger didn't seem to need as much breaking in - maybe it will get even better. But 1/4 inch groups at 30 meters seems pretty good to me. I occasionally get them this small or even a little smaller with the P35 but not as consistently. Not sure if that's me or the gun. I think the length of the Avenger makes it easier to shoot well from the bench.
Cheap versus expensive doesn't seem like a great way to choose. I'd rather have more "cheap" guns as long as they have the attributes I want. It seems to me that they all have plusses and minuses. My P35 is much harder to adjust the regulator than the Avenger. But I don't see myself doing that a lot. The Avenger is very long, right now at least, that seems like a bigger deal. My P35 is quieter than I think the Avenger can be any reasonable way. Cost to get it that way was less than $2 (half hair curlers and felt). I'm not ready to get rid of my Avenger and I may never be but my next gun will likely be another bullpup.
To me the thing I don't want to do is buy guns I know I won't be happy with long term. If I need to spend more to get the attributes I want I will. I was planning to buy a FX Crowne when I bought the P35. I would rather have a bullpup from FX but I cannot shoot the Impact, the magazine is literally in my face, I shoot from the left shoulder. The Crowne would work for me but it's also pretty long unless you use the 380mm barrel. The I saw the P35 and realized I could get a reasonably priced bullpup I could shoot. So far I really like it. It is certainly not perfect but it is accurate, light, and short. 5.2 lbs and 29 inches long is pretty nice. But the Avenger is nice in other ways. It is still light and accurate. And the scope doesn't have to be 2.5 inches above the bore.

i had 2 of the first run avengers and both had regulator creep about 3-400psi high over night.
sold them for cheap.....
just recently got the latest from PA in .177
has a small amount of creep but it is within a dime of what the reg setting is.
so i'm happy with it. very accurate with jsb 10.34gr heavies.
it keeps my cardinal colony worry free and happy !!!!

Only thing I had to do to my avenger was tighten down the scope mounts to the receiver. I also added an aftermarket barrel support/end cap that goes all the way to the barrel itself. That however wasn’t necessary for accuracy. It shoots 1/2 or less 50 yard groups with about any 22 pellet I’ve tried. Amazingly accurate. Great gun. I did notice yesterday a very slight leak from the fill port. I added some silicone oil and will see today if it fixed it. Even if it didn’t that is such an easy fix it’s no big deal. Avenger get a huge yea from me.

I do need to sell some off but the people purchasing guns seems to want better then new or they want their money back. Or if a gun starts to leak weeks down the road they want a refund. I'd rather keep the horse then deal with unhappy people .I think when I sell I'm going to advertise everything as a parts gun. But I'm sure I'll still get complaints it's not a usable gun. People dont understand the term used. Walmart and amazon return policy has made people greedy.

Or after you've built a gun up dropping several hundred dollars into it still think you should sell it at a lowballed price LOL. I don't own one and I'm not really interested in getting one either. I had a bunch of marauders when it came out and I didn't see the point for me to get one. You don't see a whole lot of issues coming up on the forum so they must be relatively good solid rifles. Just my 2 cents.

Have the Liberties, and the Freedom, the Avenger sort of has my interest, but the Umarex Origin has my curiosity
The tunability of the Avenger is not a selling point to me, as pretty much when I tune a gun to where it is doing its best I keep it there.

Fat Mike , Hello I'd like to throw my .02 in. I have the Avenger (added wood stock) & I've had no issues whatsoever w/ it. I've tuned it up & down a few times & played w/ various pellets. Basically it plays well with others !! I wish I could say the same about my Gauntlet 2 ! Like most folks agree, 18.xx gr pellets are a shoe in for most airguns . I like my Hatsan Flash Pup as well ,wish it was regulated like the Avenger. I hope the new Avenger bullpup is just as good as the rifle, I could see one in my future. Hope this helps, Martrage.

Captain o ring sells kits for the avenger so really should be little worries down the road about fixing it. Thinking of getting a second in 25 caliber.
