Hello all,My first HFT match will be on 17th this month and I´m still dealing with scopes.I have no chance to shoot at all distances at my back yard, and also have a slope, it means inclinations and such, so I´m looking for ways to set up my range card as accurate as possible.First, range the scope, I will work on it today, with a tripod and mounting just the scope on it, I will go to a soccer field and with a measuring tape and patience, I´m pretty sure I can do it.Next should be the range card and here is where problems begin.I want to use chairgun pro, I have a chronograph, so it shoudn´t be a problem, but, the UTG accushot scopes have 9 dots on each direction from the center of cross hairs.I asume that it is half mil dots, but I´m not sure, and that is crucial to set up the chairgun pro.Can anybody tell me if I´m right or if I have to choose other type of reticle from the app menu?If just one paramenter is wrong then the range card is useless, so, your help here is unvaluable. Thanks in advance.Best.Miguel
Migule, Don't worry about a thing. Just make it to the shoot and have a good time. You will find that in this community that everyone is willing to help. It will be easier for some of these guys to look thru your scope and give you a better idea of whats happening. First rule of FT have fun. Tom
Trying to model real world physics with software is challenging - there are a lot of variables to account for. Chairgun is amazing to make comparisons between tunes, pellets, estimate FPE on target, pellet zenith, etc. However what works for me in marking my index wheel is to simply shoot. Pick a day with plenty of time and you and the wind are calm. Then shoot groups at measured yardages: 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 20 then five yard increments to 55 yards. Mark your wheel for focus and the holdover at each distance. Takes what seems like forever, but then you've got confidence in your equipment, not a close estimate. Credit to NCED for giving me similar advice as I was starting out.Since you're in NC, I'm guessing that the match on the 17th is part of THAGC. If so, see you there. Don't sweat how much or little prep you have time for before then. You'll have fun!
