I live in eastern Pa. near Allentown and I'm looking for a tuner to work on my Gamo.
Does anyone have contact info for a tuner within two hours drive from Allentown?

John in PA is in eastern PA and tunes German guns. Many (most?) tuners won't touch less expensive guns - it's not worth your expense to have it done. One exception is OleTomCat here on GTA. I think he's in SC.
Depending on what you want done it would probably be pretty simple to do it yourself. Airguns are not difficult to work on and you'll find the expertise here to help you through it.

The Gamo is not expensive so maybe it's a throw away, I dunno.
I'm having a hard time getting consistent groups at 25 yards and I think it's the gun because I get much better groups at 75/100 yards with a .22lr, so I want to have the rifle checked over before I give up on it.
I could do the work myself but I don't want to invest in a spring compressor and special spring coatings and lubricants. Besides that it's a mystery finding out what parts are need or even fit the gun.

John in PA lives in Thomasville, west of York PA right off Rt30...
I attached a GMap link that shows one way to travel, but it would probably be faster to take I78-I81-I83-PA30W...
I've driven to Kutztown from York a few times and it's approx 2 hours.
John should be listed in the forums vendors or tuners list.
I'm sure his address info is listed so you can contact him directly.
Maybe -
You could also try his home phone, which is 717-873-5128

If you expect a springer to shoot like a rimfire you're way off base. I actually CAN get groups out of my springer to compare with my rimfire out to about fifty yards. I have spent a lot of time at it, though - as well as working on my springers.
Realize the operation of the two is not even remotely similar. When you pull the trigger on a springer you set a piston (weight) into motion. It moves forward compressing the air while the spring is also pushing the gun back into your shoulder (recoil). As the air is compressing to launch the pellet the recoil already has the gun in motion. THAT is why it's critical to hold the gun exactly the same way for every shot. The gun must be in exactly the same location at the exact instant when the pellet leaves the barrel.
Now go read a bit on the artillery hold. If the trigger is hard to pull that affects groups as well. After you get some basics down you can begin to seek the gun's favorite (not your favorite) pellet. Anybody can shoot a pellet rifle. Proficiency takes practice. You should pretty quickly be able to get one inch groups off the bench at twenty yards. It can take months to get that down to 3/4 or even a half inch. Practice a bit.

It takes some practice, but you can get good groups out of a springer. The key is consistency.
The artillery hold is a good start; but where you hold some rifles, others won't like. So you need to experiment with where she likes to be supported; 3 shot groups should be enough for you to get an idea of where the magic is. Remember to keep everything consistent.
For my Maggy, she's a tack driver. Hole in hole accuracy, if you do your part. She's done it with CPUM Domes, Sniper Magnums and some NSA ammo as well.
I'd say give her another chance. Unless it's something major wrong, I'm pretty sure she'll pleasantly surprise you.

And tighten your screws! The tightness of the three screws that hold the stock to the action must be checked and maintained. There is a funny song that someone wrote just about this. Soon as accuracy starts to go south, check your screws!
Good luck, read up and have fun!

Thanks, but I'm dealing with it myself. I think this could have a bearing on the accuracy I'm trying achieve.

Barry, Yep that bad piston seal will not provide consistency in pellet speed. I'm sure you rounded over all the internal edges of the cutouts in the compression tube so the seal doesn't get cut like that again.
That's a neat plane you have in your avatar. Do you fly R/C as a grown-up?

I did file any roughness away but didn't do any heavy duty chamfering and I hope that was enough.
No RC after I got my driver license. I moved on to an Ercoupe and then a Cessna.
