I’ve been wondering if anyone has made a jig of sorts to shorten lead bullets . I’ve seen holders for drilling HP’s . I would like to be able to modify some of the bullets I cast but have no idea how I’d go about it other than sending the moulds to the machine shop for milling .

What caliber? This is for prototyping weights? Shape of bullets?
I have some ideas, but depends on what you are trying to get to

Loren , what I’m thinking was to be able to remove either from the nose or tail of the bullet . Not really for chnging the shapes .

Drill a hole just a bit larger in diameter than your bullet to the depth you want for a bullet length in a steel block. Then drop bullet in hole and take a sharp chisel and cut the bullet off.
Could probably do the same thing with multiple holes, in a hardwood block a little deeper than bullet length. Then take a router and mill a slot through the block and across the top of the bullets cutting the bullets to length. Once done you would have something to repeat producing multiple bullets to the same length.
Hope that helps
