I recently punched a Gamo to kill time with my brother not thinking how big of a hobby this would turn out for me . I have been online and the market is huge so I found this forum and so much information witch leads me to ask should I be looking to have my rifle tuned already ? I did order a new scope for it as the one provided wasn't the best I ordered the UTG 3-9x40 so any help is appreciated ..

Hi, Martin, and welcome to the GTA!! The first thing to do with your new gun is to give the barrel a good cleaning to remove the manufacturing crud. This makes a remarkable improvement on accuracy. If the trigger is hard to pull check into charliedatuna.com for an upgrade. These two simple things can make a world of difference in your level of satisfaction with the gun and its accuracy.
Tighten the stock and scope screws. Investigate the artillery hold. Find out what pellets your gun likes. Practice shooting and get the gun broken in. In short, do the best you can to learn the gun and its quirks.
Now decide whether you want to tune the gun yourself or pay to have someone else do it. Tuning never hurts but by this time you should have a good idea how far you wish to push to achieve airgun nirvana.

Well you made a bad decision there. Gamos are not the best guns you can buy. Unfortunately they can be the cause of a peculiar affliction. If you follow Roadworthys advice you get to the stage where they are pretty good shooters but it takes time and practice.
You will inevitably aspire to 10 mm groups at 25 yards and even find yourself sneaking off to have another try. It just happens to be fun. I suppose you could say it is addictive.
The good part for you is that you have a good scope.
Ridiculous affliction really but I shoot my Gamos far more than my other guns.
I look forward to hearing of your progress.
PS. Make sure that barrel clean is very thorough. You will find out why.
