Getting ready to order a huma reg for my new 25 cal Marauder. I read on some page, I can't remember where, that guys were using 177 and 22 cal regs in the 25 or was it visa versa? Any one advise me or elaborate any more on this? Thanks much. Brian Smith
I finally pulled the Huma in my 25 Marauder. I can get more power and just as many shots without it. You will need to do some porting to your valve, transfer port and barrel. I took mine to .160 and was unhappy with the results. Some have told me I need to go to .180 to .220. I am not ready to hunt down the material for the transfer port and frankly got tired pulling the regulator, adjusting and getting nowhere. I have a light weight hammer and light valve spring but can't seem to figure it out. I put a Huma in my .177 marauder, pulled it once to make an adjustment and got 75 good shots with some Crosman 10.5s at 900 fps. It has a Hill light weight hammer and his 6lb. valve spring. I am VERY satified with the results. Don
JMO here .... unless willing to really go nuts porting out the stock valve / transfer path to barrel, Regulating a .25 M-rod is going to give you a modest 40-45 ft lb gun.Go nuts on porting W/reg you can find 55-60 ft lbs but that's really about whats practical.Generally .25's are purchased as HUNTERS where a LOT of power is wanted, Regulation and High Power seldom get used in the same sentence unless in a platform specifically built from the ground up as a regulated high power gun such as WAR Flex & WarP guns which are VERY Maraudish in design.
Sorry I posted here. Please listen to the great experts above. I only make mistakes. Don
