Trigger replacement help

Hi everyone,
I've been into air gunning for about 3 years now. I've recently been thinking about beginning to tune some of the guns I own. I thought that I would start with a upgraded trigger for my Gamo Big Cat 1250. Does this sound like a decent starting point for a beginner tuner? I was going to try and get a CDT trigger package. Anyone have any tips, advice, recommendations, or pointers? All are appreciated. Thanks guys!

Big Cats are very easy to mess with. The CDT trigger alone will transform the rifle tremendously. It's better to teach yourself on a cheap gun than accidentally mess something up on an expensive one!

I don't know the age of your Gamo. If it's a newer one with the plastic SAT trigger you probably need the GRT 4G trigger:

If it's an older Gamo it may take the GRT III. Be sure to order the correct trigger - it's a hassle to exchange them.

Start in the GTA Library, it'st in the title bar at the top of every page, fourth link from the right...
1.) Build a Spring Compressor.
2.) Read all of the material on tuning an air gun and changing the trigger.
3.) Watch a butt load of videos online.
4.) Order parts and lubricants before you start to disassemble your gun.
Good luck, and feel free to contact me anytime you need help..

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm after at GTR 4G after doing a lot reading and research. I think I'm ready to order. Have a compressor and have been getting prepared. I hope this turns out to be a good and fun little project.

You will be fine my first springer project was a CDT 4G trigger install on my 2 month old Gamo Whisper Fusion. it was my first mod and I did a complete deburr, lube and tune at the same time. The rifle still shoots great. In fact OleTomcat encouraged me to give it a try
