Gamo Whisper Elite .177

Purchased a $70 Gamo Whisper Elite .177 from Yugster.
Slow shipping but finally arrived. The black stock is solid and not hollow. It does have the plastic barrel lock-up, will see how long that lasts, maybe keep it lubed.
It handles and shoots fine and the trigger is nice, not heavy.
The one problem I have is the breech is tight and quite a few .177 pellets will not go in easily. Anyone have experience with maybe boring it out a bit. Would not need much. Thanks ...

Don't bore it out.
Have you cleaned the barrel yet?
If not start there then a little bit of bore paste on a cotton patch then some cleaning again.
Check the angle on the breach it may need a little shaping like a muzzle gets crowned.

OTC Thanks. No, I have not did anything yet, not even cleaning. I did crown the breech as it had very sharp edge, no bevel at all. That helped with the seating but not with the larger pellets. I have the materials needed for the job and will try it...

OTC Thanks, I did just a regular cleaning with bore paste and it did the trick. Went through all my .177 pellets and every one fit the bore nicely. Get some shooting weather and see how well it does now. This is good advice for anyone with a new rifle and find the pellets fitting tight.
