I made a roughly 3 1/4" diameter sidewheel by machining and gluing together a few black ABS pipe fittings and this is the result.........
Uploaded at Snapagogo.com
Here are a couple fittings used for the SW along with the detached Aeon side wheel.....

Initially th eSW was secured to the focus knob with some nylon screws and a snug slip fot over the knob like this..........

Well....drilling and tapping the holes for the mounting screws created the need for a certain "fabrication procedure" like machining the hub first, then gluing the hub in the press fit hole bored in the cleanout plug that forms the wheel and the result looked like this.........

By the way, the pointer was made from a piece of black nylon zip-tie.
Well.....I made another SW since the plumbing fittings cost less than $5 but this time I bored the inside of the SW hub for a snug slip fit with the focus knob and secured the SW with a thin coat of RTV silicone rubber in the hub. The result looks like this.......

LOL....guess that black RTV rubber would have been better but blue is all I had! I did a test previously and found that the RTV secured focus knob could be pushed out of the SW without damage by using a plastic dowel and a press. Works a treat!

Well....I just ordered this aluminum sidewheel from Wild West Airguns.........

Looks good and appears to be lightweight, but I'll probably be machining away the "grippies" around the rim for attaching a range tape.
