I think your just tired or something, you can certainly do anything you want with your rifle BEFORE a match, use it for years cocking it with you teeth if you like, no worries . IF your rifle has an adjustable cheek or butt pad the need to be in the neutral position. That is if your cheek piece IS adjustable it must be set all the way down, if your buut bad is adjustable it must be again in the neutral position, as in even with the wooden (other section, NOT side down or up. Rule #1 rule # 2 safety.And it's always up to the match director and it's not like every match has points trophy's , most clubs only have one official match a year. Everything else is a fun match or practice match. Have fun.John
