I'm going to compete in my first HFT meet next weekend and I need some advice on the choice of pellets.
using the combination of rifle power setting and regulator, i've been able to get a couple of pellets in the 18+fpe range (keep it under 20fpe).
JSB Exact Jumbo Domed 15.90gr, 721fps (avg), 18.3fpe
or
JSB Exact Jumbo RS 13.45gr, 786fps (avg), 18.4fpe
both pellets have almost identical deviation (good) and they both group very well.
unfortunately the 18.14gr JSB are 20.5fpe so i can't use those.
the targets will be from 10-50yards.
which is the better choice? faster or heavier?

Keeping in line with most of us whom choose to shoot .177 for a faster flatter trajectory, the LIGHTEST ACCURATE .22 cal pellet you can use staying under 20#
BC while important for hunting etc ... is not that overly important with only a few long shot per match happening.
Less correction each shot takes, better chance you have in being overall more accurate in shot placement.
Extreme artillery trajectories are troublesome in FT / HFT having the shooter NEED TO BE VERY ACCURATE in ranging distances.
This JMO .....
