I'm thinking of trying FT in Hunter Class this summer. Having never seen a FT tournament, what little I know has come from the various on-line forums - this one in particular. I understand that HC allows the use of a bucket and bipod. My very basic question is do forced position lane requirements apply to HC shooters along with other class participants? Not sure that my 70yo arthritic knees are up to any form of kneeling. Thanks. John
I thought you could always choose a harder position even on a forced shot. Such as if there is a kneeling forced shot you could choose to shoot it standing. Is that correct? I'm a pretty new FT shooter but thats what I understood. Please correct me.
Forced Shooting PositionsThe range may be set up to require use of a forced position on designated targets. A sign declaring a forced shooting position must be used at a shooting lane. Regardless of any prescribed position, the shooter may opt to shoot the target offhand (standing). Aids such as straps, harnesses, monopods, shooting sticks, or bipods are not allowed on forced position shots.
