Scope up to 450$ for HFT

Hey guys,

i am searching for a good scope for HFT.

I thought about:

but i read that this scope has the lowest parallax range from 25yards.

Do you have any better ideas for me? Dead Hold BDC or MilDot or something like that would be great :-)

You may get lots of replies, but it is a different game on your side of the pond than the AAFTA version we play over here.

What is the power limit for HFT scopes?
I personally have used a Optisan/MTC Viper 4-16x in open class with very good success ranging at 16x
In testing the UTG 4-16 glass etched as does pretty well but I haven't tried it in a match.

I have the limit of 7,5J (5.5ftlb). We are shooting on distances from 7-41m (8-45 yards).

It would be great if you have some ideas for me!

If you are shooting Euro HFT that does not allow range finding a good fixed 10x scope would be my choice. For 450euro yous hould be able to get some good glass. Sorry I don't have a brand name for you but I don't own any fixed power scopes. :/

One of the best I have used is the Optisan Viper. It was recently discontinued and updated/replaced with the EVX. I don't know how the updated and "improved" measures up to the Viper as I have not tried one, but if they really did improve it, it is worthy of researching.

Most of us on this forum are in the USA and shoot AAFTA Hunter Division. Focus range finding as practiced in AAFTA Hunter Division is not legal in the HFT game. So your scope requirments will not be the same. Most people on this forum have no real experience with HFT.

I am informed by knowledgeable people (Viper owners), that the EVX does not have a marking for 12x, so is useless in Hunter Division.  There are also rumors that Optisan/MTC is coming out with another line that will correct this error.
