PCP/CO2/HPA Air Gun Gates "The Darkside" / Re: Benjamin Fortitude Leak Question« Last post by kbstingwing on Today at 07:43:22 PM »try putting a few drops of silicone oil through your fill port, it just may need a little lube to soften it up and might solve the leak.
I put 5-10 drops in the female fosters fitting in the hose, connect to the gun and fill with air, air will force oil into male fosters and valve to lube the o-ring. 2

I did not try to pressure the cylinder with the barrel removed and not connected to gun. I will try this, again Thank You 3
Air Gun Gate / Re: What airgun related did you do today?« Last post by avator on Today at 07:38:02 PM »didn't get to do anything air gun related, my mower seized up after I did an oil change, found out that the Governor shaft had broken, I was wondering why sometimes it would start up and be wide open throttle, broken governor shaft is pinned in the crank keeping the piston from moving, I did see small pieces of metal in the oil... Just my Luck..... good thing it's under Warranty.... .It must be going around... fortunately mine was just a plugged fuel filter. But now I am compelled to flush out the fuel tank. 4

Engineering- Research & Development / Re: Trying to add pressure sensors to LDC testing.« Last post by WhatUPSbox? on Today at 07:32:14 PM »Yeah, I'm working on my strategy for the portable test.
In the mean time, as a comparison, I ran a test in the current configuration using the all hollow LDC segments (results below). With the hollow LDC, the pressure rise in the cap occurs much earlier. Pretty much at the speed of sound after the barrel uncorking. On the microphones, the initial noise spikes occur as before, consistent with geometry and a source at the uncorking. The second batch of noise occurs earlier, probably tied to the pressure reaching the cap earlier. It will be interesting if trends show up as changes are made. 7

PCP/CO2/HPA Air Gun Gates "The Darkside" / Re: Benjamin Fortitude Leak Question« Last post by billygee on Today at 07:05:02 PM »Yes, it is one of the side screws holding the valve.
Resulting in a nicked valve o-Ring that would seal back up reaching 2000 psi Not saying this is your issue, but was mine The valve o-Ring installation can be tricky, that is why I immerse the whole cylinder in water after a fill of 3000+ psi for a couple minutes To insure that the o-rings seated, I at times will bleed out the air to 0 psi, then refill to 3000+ psi and repeat the immerse test again Hope this helps solve your issue Bill 9

No consecutive letters from any poster, please. Once you post one letter and model or manufacturer, wait your turn until someone else has at least done the next letter. I'll start: A. Air Arms 10
Back Room / Re: Good morning! Are you up yet? What's your plans for today?« Last post by Sqrl Klr on Today at 07:02:31 PM »I traded in a 1971 corvette for a truck. Corvette blew up right after they sold it to someone else. Seems Chevy put one of the rods in backwards when they built it. How that car lasted 10 years with it like that....... It had a 454. With that much torque in that light car I bet you could smoke em in any gear. Gil, I always thought you were a beater truck with moonshine under the seat type guy. More of a beer/rum guy myself. Had a beater truck back in the day with a modified 350, posi track diff and off road tires which was so fun! Soon as you even thought about turning the key the engine was already started. I've never seen a engine start so fast and with the rumble and large pipes people thought it was a big block. I should've never sold it. Those were the days. |
