I was going to use my old Armada stock, but I just don't like how bulky it is. I begrudgingly ordered a JSAR minimalist kit from Airgun Proshop that'll let me mount an AR grip and stock. Only reason I did that is because I want to use the Mrod trigger group, and because I don't really feel like making a new sear... I kinda just want to put this together and shoot it. We'll see if the kit is actually in stock. I cut down the barrel- it's 14" OAL. I'll need to make a spacer for the breech section. The barrel is 14mm, the breech bore is 15mm or so. I've ordered a 14mm (9/16") drill bit, and when that comes in, I'll make the spacer for the barrel. That's about it for updates. I'll keep y'all posted.I've made a TP from some icemaker tubing that happen to fit. It's got a bit of squish to it, so hopefully it'll seal up fine. I'll have to deepen a screw pocket on the rear right breech screw hole. The breech screw stands a little proud- I tried filing down the head of the breech screw, and it works... But the screw didn't leave a deep enough pocket for the allen key. So I'll deepen the screw pocket in the breech so I can have full engagement w/an allen key. I figure with such a small screw, that would be the safest bet.
Hopefully you get that JSAR minimalist kit, I really like that setup. It's not that bad of a deal either, when you consider the cost of a Prod trigger group, sear, stock adapter, and then you have to make the Prod to Gen 2 adaptations... Good decision, I believe.
Never hurts to simplify a project to get to the fun part... shooting!
Great progress. That little spacer is very impressive work.
While the sentiment is much appreciated, not much point buying something and then never using it. One of the other fellows can guinea pig it. As we discussed, I was only finishing the one until the fitment had been verified anyways. So no worries Tom. Regards,Al
