PCP/CO2/HPA Air Gun Gates "The Darkside" / Re: New 3622 big problems« Last post by avator on Today at 10:00:09 AM »Kinda scary if ya think about it....
Are you 100% sure the air tube is empty? My first choice would be send it back for exchange or refund. HPA is no joke and MUST be respected. I feel like I have enough respect and experience to find and fix the problem myself if it were mine. The first thing I would do is strip it down to the tube leaving the fill assy, and valve in place. Then I would look in the tube (once the hammer is removed) and see if the poppet stem is in place and not broken. If it is good, I would manually degas then gun. One way of doing that is with a pipe clamp and something that fits in the tube. Slowly crank in the clamp depressing the poppet stem. Once I was sure the gun completely out of air I would remove the fill assy. It has a check in it that insures air goes in and not out. From what I've been reading here, it sounds me like the problem may be here. But like I said, my first recommendation would be to send it back. 6

I used some Pelgun oil, and that was probably the wrong lube to use. I now have some Super O-ring Lube that I'll use this time. I'll also clean the tube a lot better. Thanks for the heads up. Ron 7

I feel bad for all the folks in the World that have to always have the best of the best. Brand spanking new would very much look out of place around here. My Sister bought a cabin on the Muskingum River in Ohio from the 50's when we were in our mid 20's. It had been flooded and repaired many times over the years. I loved that place and always wanted to live there. There was a time when I spent every weekend there. I've always said that I was born several years too late. Nothing I would like better than to live in the days of horse n buggy and log cabin life. 8

For some reason it's dropping shots about 2", and I can hear some air gurgling coming around the breech, at least the best I can tell. I really don't want to do this. I felt like I dodged a bullet the first time, but I really don't have a choice. Ron |
