Should be able to see a 2 digit number on the end cap of the tube. Might have to rub a little paint. My tootsie roll was 66 meaning June of '66.
Thanks, It's incredible how much better the old style versions of these guns work than the later versions with the plastic bolt. They sound so much nicer without all that spring noise. I have a few of these, some with the heavy duty styrene stocks as well, I always pick them up when I see nice ones at sales, flea markets etc. I have noticed the demand and price is sneaking up on these I sold 2 at the show last week.
I found one of these in the garage of my parents home. It has been there for a while and I think i remember trying to shoot it when I was a kid. Checked the number and its "66". The butt stock is in rough shape and it won't hold air. Are they worth having them refinished? I dont know if it would be shot again as I really prefer my PCPs but I guess it would be nice to have it in shooting condition.
The styrene guns are heavier than the wood. never looked for the date on the styrene guns... I'm a wood and metal kinda guy. Matter of fact, I should gather my non-wood 760s and list them. I don't shoot them.
