I refinished it a few days ago, the grain in these old guns is really nice. I have seen a few of these complete on CL for $125-$175 with the original magazines so they are out there. There is a plastic one on AA that is really nice for $250
heckuva find/buy!I have a complete M1 that just needs a piston sealHaving a hard time finding oneYeah, definitely one of the coolest BB guns ever made. Crosman was innovative as *(&^, in the earlier days.
Yes, it's very straightforward to reseal once you get inside. There are a couple picture tutorials on resealing an M1 somewhere on the net. When they are shooting good they generate over 350 fps with that poppet valve. Now I'm beginning to miss the ones I let go of.

This old M1 probably hits 400 FPS when I oil it for a few shots, it's probably dieseling, I'll more than likely re-seal it. I had a really nice early V350 I sold last year, very minimalistic gun, they were probably $5.00 new and it shot way harder than an old Daisy 25 and much quieter.

I'd be surprised if it can generate the pressure to cause dieseling but then I've been surprised a few times in my life! That poppet valve is a very efficient power plant. I'm getting talked into wanting another 350......I think the M1 may be beyond my pocket book. That said, a basic used 350 sold on fleabag for $450 recently!!!!
Yeah. $100 is more like it for a hard shooting 350 in good nick. But then again, a thing is worth exactly what somebody is willing to pay for it, in the moment. I wish I could find some of them folk who are willing to part with that kind of cash for a basic vintage BB gun.
No "real" heat. Try a basic hair dryer. Shouldn't hurt the seals but should loosen up the lubrication gone to gunk. I've had success with 50 year old airguns and a hair dryer before. Last weekend I freed up an old toy train from the 70's that refused to work. It's battery operated with synthetic gears. Gave it the hair dryer treatment for a couple minutes, a squirt of PB Blaster and all is good now.
