I'm thinking about an adult BB gun just for plinking when I am bored. I am open to suggestions. Also under $150

I just got the Uramax Morph 3 , fun on the cheep. Bought gun -1500 bb's-40 co2 viles- and two pelloils - delivered for $103.00.

most of the bb/pellet pumpers are generally accurate for plinking out to 20-25 yards .... maybe farther, i only have 25 yards to test mine ...

The best feature of the Daisy red ryder series is the muzzle loading. Just slide the little window open and dump 100 bb's down the hole and close the window. As long as the muzzle is above level when you cock it, you get a perfect feed every time.
I wish my Crosman C11 pistol would feed as well. My C11 POS jams every 3rd shot.

There appears to be a 1938AAR (adult sized) red rider that seems to be out of stock but maybe available somewhere.....

The Red Ryder stock is made out of your basic 1x6 board. I'd just pull it out and use it as a template. Get a 6' piece of 1x6, trace the original stock, add on how many extra inches I want, cut it out, drill it, sand it, and finish it. Make five more while I'm at it and sell 'em on fleabay to pay for a couple more BB guns. ;)

I'm with you there. The 499 is super accurate but....... a lot of a BB gun's fun for me is loading in a couple hundred BB's then just cock and fire. If I want super accurate and one shot at a time, I have my 822.

Good question.
499 is the most accurate BB gun in the world but that's a 5 meter stat and needs to be loaded one at a time.
Red Ryder is fairly accurate again over 5 meters, trigger not as nice as the 499 but you get a little better fps.
I think a smooth bore pumper would be the way to go and these would include the Daisy 35 and the Crosman Pumpmaster 760 which is surprisingly hard to pump so I'd go with the Daisy.

Single shot muzzle loading is both good and bad for the 499. Good because it gets rid of the inefficiencies caused by having an air tube- it doesn't have one. Bad because it's not a repeater. A 499 can be made from parts bought directly from Daisy for about $85.00. Not cheap but better than retailer prices. Add a $4.00 Red Ryder spring from Daisy and it shoots 425 fps. Stock it shoots 240-ish fps. Accurate to 30 yards maybe more but that's the range of my BY targets ATM.
Lot of folks like the 880 and it's a BB repeater. Couple easy pumps per shot. Tons of ways to 'fix it up'- trigger, weight in stock, accuracy mods, etc.

A Red Ryder has a medium length stock; it is longer than BB gun stocks used to be. I personally think it is just the right length for an adult when point shooting and plinking. A Red Ryder with a metal lever
and irridium's easy and simple trigger spring mods makes for a very nice low cost shooter.

While they're not "BB" guns per se, a Daisy 853 from CMP is within your price range and most are extremely accurate.

If you want repeatable fun....not terribly accurate....but fun...the Daisy 25 pump rifle serves the purpose. Don't know if they still come with a flip up simple peep, a boon for old eyes. Get some of those Dust Bunny (?) frangible bb's if indoors or plain old copper coated with a suitable backstop/trap and have at it.

I can attest to the full auto bb guns wow factor, I'm going to do my own weathering job, and get a sling for my MP40. I've gotten pretty good with 6-8 round bursts for better accuracy. The blowback bolt and sound on this one is very realistic.

The model 25 I got from WM last year had the dual vee/peep flip sight. I had to make the hole a tiny bit larger for my eyes and how I shoot but otherwise it works very good. I actually got around to getting a small supply of the flip sights with the attaching screws. I plan to use one on a Red Ryder, except on it I plan to use the top stock screw to hold it in place.

First, decide if you want co2 or pump/spring action, otherwise it’s apples and oranges here. In co2, Umarex has the new lever action, and a new ‘storm’ that shoots a zillion bb’s rapid fire. Different ways to hit what you are aiming at. Pyramid has the John Wayne bb rifles that look like a cut above the red ryder, and you never run out of co2.
