I picked up a refurb 135 Vortex QE .30, but I was thinking about the Edge too because it was such a good price. Then I thought about what would happen when my wife finds out. I’m already going to be in the dog house when the Carnivore comes in.
just got one for 44.95 shipped !it says 1000fps with all the lower end stuff as extras.maybe this one will pass break-in probation......

You want like it anymore than the one you sent back. The Edge/Striker/VMX, they're what they are. They're okay. They'll never be a Dominator or a 135.
I have one and it shoots very well with the open sights. All I did was a lube tune and shortened the spring by 4 coils and it shoots smoother and doesn't seem to have lost any of the punch it had before. It will shoot CPHP's and Winchester .177 cheap lead, well. It's one of three of the "door" guns I have and I enjoy shooting it.
Mine was a Vortex til I started tinkering with the ram and a high pressure hand pump but before I tinkered, it was shooting anything in the 7-10gr range between 930 and 950ish so yours should shoot in the same vicinity and with a spring, no worries about a bad gas ram plus easy to tune or just ask Nick...lol. I still have the receiver and guts plus the stock I went a little crazy customizing and Mr Nick up there has the trigger and .177 barrel. Never did buy another one because by that time, I had the 87QE and Webley Spector both in .177, both of which have also been just slightly customized since.
