For me it comes down to the sites and Sheridans are far superior. The Crosman sites are too wide and take up too much of the target. With Sheridans you can clearly see your target on both sides of the blade. It makes acquiring the target easier and the slim blade and ramp are more precise.
The Sheridan looks nice, the Crosman looks odd, to me. It looks like a nail bent over.

This is what is meant by grace of design, very hard to equate it to this part the Streak? I really think people think that front end looks nice cause that’s what they are used to seeing? The Crosman design though certainly inexpensive is actually much more in the SuperGrade tradition?
The price on my Bluestreak was $63.95 in 77, I also got the scope mount and weaver B4 I think with it too from a local gun shop at the time.
Interesting Montgomery Ward version of the 140. Love the flute? on the end of the cocking arm.
Crosman irons from that era are terrible. The backsight is difficult to adjust and does not hold zero well. The foresight is too thick for precise shooting past fifteen yards. I've scoped my 1400 and it really woke this gun up! It is a dependable squirrel killer out to 35 yards now.
