I have a stock Daisy 747 that recently had all seals replaced and cleaned up and polished. Given a complete tune. Before the work being done it was shooting at 280 feet per second.
Now it will only shoot at 320 to 330 feet per second.
What can I do to ENCREASE it's speed?
Thanks

Depending on what weight pellet you're shooting, that's about all any of them do for MV. You can face the piston top perfectly flat if it has a casting line before readjusting it to maximize the compression. A lighter weight pellet will get you a little MV but generally won't give as much ft-lb as a heavier pellet from a pneumatic. A soft, thin skirted pellet like the RWS Superdome might get you some MV, despite not being as light as some pellets. You could try 7 grain RWS Diabolo Basic or Hobbys if you want light, they're lead wadcutters. Non lead, 'pba' type pellets can be lighter yet, but will fly, if just velocity not ft-lbs is the idea. I've shot a few 4 grain Crosman SSP pellets from a Daisy 853- they gave 650 fps on a nominal 500 fps using lead pellets. In my experience, hard alloy pellets don't do as well.

Something aint right with it. For hucks and giggles I pulled out a couple of my cheapo 717's. They have exactly the same innards as a 747. Both are at least 30 years old and no beauty queen. I did reseal them awhile back but I did not mod them in any way. Both are shooting in the mid 390's fps with Gamo Master points (7.56 gr.). I get low 300 fps from my D 722........that's the same power plant and pushing a .22 pellet. Have you adjusted the piston head for max power?

The Daisy 7x7 series are only rated for 360fps factory specs.
So you aren't too far from spec.
Having owned a few of them, and rebuilt many of them, it's about right on the money.
As to more power, there are some mods out there, but the increases aren't that great.

I make 2 predictions;
ON THE DATE WHEN US TROOPS ARE ISSUED AN Energy Pulse Weapon,
1. The US Soldier will have on his person a version of the Colt 1911.
2. He will be aiming the NEW Weapon at someone carrying an AK47.

When you open the pump arm to max extension, you will see some aluminum slots by the foam wiper, you can insert a screw driver and rotate the piston head in or out.
BE CAREFUL
If you adjust the piston out too much you will put too much pressure on the valve and can crack it.
Then you will have to replace the walther barrel and valve assembly, as it is sold as 1 piece.
In the service manual, (available on line to download for free) there are explicit instructions as to how to adjust it properly.

You want to adjust it so that when you open up the pump arm (without cocking the bolt!!) and then close it there is resistance just under 1 1/2" from being fully closed again. Here's a link on how it works.
https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2007/09/daisy-717-part-2/
Notice that Tom Gaylord is getting about 390 fps from his 717 in this link. In my experience, this is one time when claimed velocity is less than what you actually get. After you adjust the piston head, you should see an increase in power.

Without knowing what pellet is being used through the LW barrel for the MV figures given it's a guess as to what may be going on. But readjusting the piston to maximize the compression is something that should be done regardless, if it hasn't been already.
