A week or so ago i got my self a new 99. Petty gun well it did not take long for that to wear off . i put 20or30 rounds in to a target.
more like at the the thing. it would not shoot straight for nothing. well by that time i was about to think i had got a pig.
then i remembered i hadn't tigten the screws in the stock i felt dum. put it up for the night . went back to a day or later.the it started to make a grinding sound each time i would cock it it got so bad i stooped took it apart the linkage was bent and grinding against the inside back. I was not happy so after filing then a good sanding the gun is fixed. shoots fine and its looking good so if any of you buy a 99 lube it and tighten the screws its a lot less work that way over all it does seem to be a good gun. light weight shoots well

Jack, glad to hear you've got the 99 shooting well. I had one for about 6 months and I could never get it to shoot accurately for me. I think I needed a good recrowning. The gun was built like a tank and had attractive wood and a nice matte finish on the metal. I might buy another one one day or an 89. They're good, powerful guns.

My 99 is in .22 and shoots smaller than dime sized groups at 20 yds. I ve did nothing but clean the barrel with goo gone... It prefers superdomes and crow mags and with these it groups nickel sized at 40 yds (Could be better but I get the shakes lol) I ve been stalking some ground hogs and hopefully I'll get one sooner or later. Try those pellets out and cphp's don't shoot bad either. (BTW the crow mags fit super tight)

They are for sure a box of candy! You never know with them. I got rid of all of mine, but the .22 was pretty great to be honest.

I got my TF 99 .22 cal. from howie here on gta. It will put 5 cphp pellets in one hole at 10yrds, also 5 in a clover leaf at 20 yrds. 30 yrds 5 in a quater. Its real heavy with the RWS 3x9 scope I have on it but its balanced well. Iam a big guy so the weight dosn't bother me out in the woods, but if your small get something lighter ....

I've got a .177. Think about selling it, then I shoot it and man that thing is so accurate! Better keep it.

all this talk about the TF99 made me get up and start back to work on the AG. Got the adjustable butt pad to fit a little better, put the air stripper that Mr. Peter made for the XS60 on along with the a barrel clamp from a B3 tune kit that I got from Mr. Archer. I have been so consumed with PCP and how they work that I just place the everything else on the back burner. Man I really like shooting simple AG's.

the gun shoots a whole lot better than I can.have been able to take several chip's out at long ranges with it. The tune really help this AG out. I think the next time i go into it I will install the plastic seal that come with the kit that Mr. Archer sells. I like the leather seal but it needs to be oil every so often to keep the speed up.
Did get a chance to chony it today here are the numbers with RWS Superdomes and not being oiled:
1. 616.3
2. 621.7
3. 616.6

8. 612.1
9. 612.0
