i have been repairing the bird feeders for the last several weeks from a large animal tearing into them at night.i stayed up late after returning from work and couldn't sleep, so i opened a book i've been reading and it didn't take long before i couldn't keep my eyes open. about 6am i awoke to what sounded like someone trying to enter the house. we leave all the outside lights on (L.E.D.) so with a look out the back window i spot a raccoon on the deck attempting to get to a feeder. i took the NP2 Trail from along side the chest of drawers and load a .22 polymag. cranking the window open i take aim at it's head from the second story bedroom window and squeeze off the shot.the bandit's head immediately hit the deck until it's soul realized what happened and the dance to release it's self from it's mortal vessel began. with kicks that spin it in an arc, blood and foam is left in it's wake, and then, nothing.slipping on a pair of sandals and grabbing my Brocock Contour, i entered the cold air to retrieve my kill before the morning sun fully showed herself. the bandit lay still. a few pokes with the Contour confirmed it. feeling it's heft as i bring it into the garage before neighbors open blinds or draw back curtains to see a grown man in his boxers and sandals with a 27lb beast in hand. once again the NP2 Trail has taken another bandit and bird feeders and garbage cans are a little safer.
