XS-25 SFB Muzzlebrake removal

I am happy to report that I successfully removed the muzzlebrake off the Xisco XS-25 SFB. I have read that others have not been able to do so.
After removing the set screws, I noticed I could move the brake a 1/4" or so but it wouldn't budge beyond that. So I carefully clamped the gun in a vice using soft wood up against stock. I tried with a brass punch with no success. So I just pulled and twist then push it back to the start position. Kept doing this until I noticed I was moving it further than that 1/4". The brake was catching on something and once you get past that, it comes off.
Once off I could see a grove cut around the barrel roughly 1-2" away from the muzzle. The brake I think was catching on this. I didn't look inside the brake to see if there was anything noticeable.
I removed it so I could install a limbsaver barrel de-resonator which I was able to do so. I hope to share results once I get some range time.
This is a Mike Melick tuned gun btw.
Cheers!

Just FYI stuff: Four or five years ago I bought a SFB T.H. stock from archer , the guy on the other channel, and put an Air Hawk in it. A.H. broke and it was easier and cheaper to get a $50 Black hawk Elite and put in the SFN stock.
I also have two Limbsaver barrel vibration dampers. I have them on the barrels of my Beeman RS2 dual cal. It's easier to get them on because you can take the barrels off and slide'em on from the back in. I've got BSA 2-7x32 pistol scopes mounted on the barrels with 4 rail 5 slot barrel accessory mounts. Saves having to re-zero when changing barrels. Well, kinda', they're still off a hair. I put metal muzzle breaks on them also.
Sometimes those Limbsaver dampers are hard to slide. A little oil helps.
You got me interested agin. I'm going to have get out side and experiment a little more. But they shoot pretty tight as is with the damper in the middle of the barrels. Keep up posted. Later, You all.

I actually put 2 of the limbsavers on. Not sure why but thought why not. When I get a nice enough day, will try to get some results. I am also going to start using a pellet seat too.
