U shouldnt feel much resistance. Could it be that the rear stock screw is overtightened?

I didn't think I should have to put a lot of effort into cocking it . it was fairly smooth till the point where the safety activated then it took more effort then I was expecting from the reviews ive seen .will check every thing when I get it back from hatsan.

My AT44 was hard to cock at first too. I went thru and polished all the cocking arm and linkage hardware around. That help very much making it smoother and easier to cock. 2nd thing I found was the hammer port was very dirty after cleaning it out that also helped. 3rd thing I shot some Bistel on the mag advancing mec and small shot in the hammer port. 4th thing the more I shoot it the smooother it gets. I notice after about 600 shoots it had definitely got better
You can disable the auto safety but it requires cutting the linkage to the safety switch/button. And I'm not sure it would make that much difference. Once you cut it the auto safety will never work with out getting a new linkage for Hatsan. But the safety will still work when you pull it on and off
Cheers Joe
