Difference between a B-1 and B-2?
«
on:
October 31, 2017, 05:00:06 PM »
After doing some searching I'm not able to find out what the difference is between the B-1 and B-2. Is it just the different sights or stock?
I see that SPA has a them listed out
http://www.china-airrifle.com/product/product.php?lang=en&class2=52
The B1 seems to be a little less weight and 50fps slower than the B2.
I see this one, is this the typical B-1?
I know very little about the Chinese air rifles, the cheap ones anyway.
Thank you,
Dave

The main two differences is the B2 is larger and it has a barrel latch on the left side to release the barrel for cocking. No latch on the B1.

That is interesting, SPA must use the same pictures for the B1 and B2 because it shows the latch on both.
Going back over the specs on the SPA site I now see the differences, at least regarding tru-glow vs plain iron and also the length and weight.
Thank you for the information.

That's what they did. I checked the SPA (Snow Peak) site. The four pic's under the B1-1 are a B2-1. You can tell by the barrel pivot pin. The main pic of the B1 shows the front end of the stock is about a half inch behind the pivot pin. On the B2 the stock is up flush with the Pivot pin. In the pic's of the B1-4 you can see there's no barrel latch.
I'd prefer a B2. B1 is small like a kid's gun, Jr model. It's been my experience a B2 is hard to find on Amazon. Plenty of B1. -4's are hard to find. I think the vender figure the same gun and the -1's are cheaper. The -4's have monte carlo stock, better sights and a recoil pad. The sights on Plain B2/1-1 are medal but there's no right/left adjustment on the rear sight, just up and down an not very precise. You tap the front sight side ways for windage adj. Remember when adj. a front sight everything is opposite. To move point of impact left move the sight right, etc.

I don't know how interested you are in the old chinese gun. I've got a bunch of'em. You can see some at the bottom of my list. Google them. Some aren't made any more and some can be found on the claaified. I'm not good at links.
If you want to check these out: dpciwholesale.com has some old chinese. The one that's $28 is a B2-1.
Or google: amazon air rifle .177cal break barrel w/wd stk & manual sfty (B2-2A2) 560 fps
Or: amazon New air pellet rifle gun B3 .177 real wood w/ safety You see a Nicer B3-3 with a monte carlo stock, molded trigger guard, trigger safety, recoil pad, front sight mounted on a dove tail and a short slot on the bottom of the stock which means it has a two piece cocking linkage.
Leave off w/safety and you'll see a plain old B3-1 with a long slot and one piece cocking linkage.
Enjoy, Tim

I forgot this one: Mrodair.com, you have to scroll way down. They have a B5-1 springer looks kinda' like an AK. Side lever, folding stock, trigger safety and a strange looking scope mount but it works okay. I had one and sold it because I had two older B3-1 AK's. Same gun, one was a Peak and the other was made by Bam. Peak, Snow peak, Bam same company I believe, XS maybe also.

Tim,
Thanks for info. That B2-3c looks pretty neat. What do you think they put out in fpe? Is the rear sight sloppy or pretty solid?
FWIW I liked my B5 and it was pretty accurate. The sight adjustment is crude and velocity both extremely low and all over the place, so I sent it to MM. Just told him to shelve it till I had funds.

Don't remember a B2-3. One I mentioned was a B3-3 and it would shoot around 600fps in .177.
With the B5-1 AK all the adjustment is in the front sight. The rear sight is for changing range. You really need an AK/SKS front sight adjustment tool. $5-6. You need to do elevation first with the tool, (Up to lower POI, down to raise POI) because after you adjust windage(left to move POI right and right to move POI left) with the c-clamp looking part of the tool the sight post might be to far left or right to get to it to screw in or out.
