Cool little gun for refurb....scope sucked....open sights were ok..put a sight mark RD on it...on the money at 30 feet....anybody done any trigger work , got to be 10lb pull...any surprises if I open it up....thanks

Been too long to remember much but I had a non-working Black Ops Jr. (same gun) and stuffed the BR 900 guts into it because I liked the outward appearance of the BOJ better. The BR 900 also shot a bit harder than the BOJ. The worse part about both guns... aside from the heavy trigger pull, is the plastic scope rail. I consider these guns as great "shop guns". I keep mine down in the shop in the barn along with a few other plastic fantastic guns for quick pest control and boredom releases.

Yup mine sits in the garage waiting for a hosp or the like ,,I did put a 3/8" adjustable weaver scope rail on mine and a low end Utg mildot A/O scope on mine just to make sure im on target all the way across the yard = 40 yqrds farthest safe shot.

I got my refurb just a couple days ahead of yours, and I think it's a pretty good gun for the price we paid as well. I found the trigger to be a little heavy as well, but the one on mine breaks pretty clean with no real creep. I also got a Crosman Legacy 1000 maybe a week or two before the BRS 900, and that trigger is really rough and heavy.
Looking forward to see what you do, and how your gun works out for you.

Hey Phil, do you (or any other BRS900 owners) know if you can keep a pump or two in for storing without the bolt/hammer/trigger having to be cocked?
They have the safety measure feature of cocking the bolt before you can pump and hold air, but I don't know if it can be uncocked and still hold air. Thanks!

I had noticed that u need to cock to pump, so far I havent fooled with it to see if it could be changed out..good luck

Now that I've closed in the shop down in the barn I've been looking thru our pile of guns for likely candidates for "shop/barn pester" guns. I've already chosen a pair of plastic fantastic Crosman 760Bs. One uses the 5 shot pellet clips and the other will be strictly BBs. I've also chosen our 3rd P-17 for pistol shooting. This one is fresh out of the blister pack and unmolested. I topped it with the Bushnell RD40 Red Dot.
Some time back I stuffed the guts from the Sportsman 900 into the Black Ops Jr. plastic. I liked the faux mag pump arm handle and the picatinny rails from the BOJ but the power and accuracy of this particular 900 was better. This slings the 9.8 Winnie domes impressively for a $50 gun. I have an NCStar compact scope to put on it and it is likely to become another addition to the shop.
I have a military grade steel locker that will be repurposed for a shop gun safe and will easily store 8 to 10 rifles, several pistols and ammo. It will be bolted to the floor and wall from the inside and securely locked.

Hi guys.
Have just shoot mine today for some pellets. Remounted the bundled 4x15 scope on it what is really on the low end of scopes, but that's all I can afford right now. After I dialed it in I was able to hit standard veggie tin cans out to 120 feet. Not bad at all I shoot this with Crosman 7.4 gr. pointed pellets benchrested.
No I haven't worked on mine at all, so have no clue how to work on that hard trigger.
Might have to go on the adventure to open it up. Has anyone any tips how to break it down?
All input is really welcome and appreciated. Also has anyone any info about the electrical tape mod for the straw barrel stabilizing, if this works on it? And I guess you have to open the gun up to wrap the tape around the barrel, correct me if I'm on the right track or not.

I have a reflex red dot on mine and stock 6 pumps hit cans all day...my barrel seems pretty stable....I havent been in mine but from just checking it out seems fairly easy to get into...but your right that trigger needs work.....it may be in your best interest to start your own thread ,,,rather than have your questions go unanswered buried in this thread....good luck

is t based on the daisy powerline 880 action? if so there is a trigger mod available... maybe the same? i always looked at those and wonder if i needed one (i got my own little arsenal of plastic fantastic pumpers... 760 single shot,2100 stock, 2x 880, scope and open sights and my favorite, the MK 177 with a 6x bugbuster on it) but the look on those always catches my eye... especially that NGX one. not crazy about the auto safe, but at least it does not have the faux weaver rail. all but the 2100 have been accurazed and massaged into nice little shooters... the 760 is smoothbore and it earned a 4x scope!. it will put 10 pellets under a dime at 10 yards and keep all under a quarter at 25, while pushing crosmans at 660 fps on 8 pumps... the tape mod is a necessity on the powerline 880 rifles (and i imagine any rifle based on them too). not difficult, at least on the 880s. the improvement is monumental. my open sighted one is a true tack driver. from a bench it will make little 1/4 inch cloverleafs all day long at 10 yards the scoped one is a minute of squirrel head at the farthest distance in my yard (44 yards) and i have even taken it for fun to our local field target range and i can say it did that bad (for a 35 dollar gun, new... i got both of mine for 12$ together). if the BRS is based on the 880, then it may be a good rifle indeed.
PS: would love to add a xs77 to the mix... but they are still 80$ on my neck of the woods. maybe i'll pick up the new 760 to see how it stacks against the oldie lego brick handled one...

Basically the same mods, The 900 has a heavy spring that works the safety that can be replaced with a weaker spring or compressed to lighten and reduce the noise of the safety disengagement. I set mine a little too light and caused the safety not to disengage sometimes , so i just ran a screw into the plastic safety to lock it in the off position. There is also a trigger spring that benefits by bending to lessen the trigger pull. The last thing I did was found a 3/8 dovetail to weaver droop adjustable scope mount to wring maximum accuracy out of this little plastic gem 8)
P.S. I did not need to do the tape mod ;D

Both my 900 and XS77 are refurbished and zero problems...I think I got $60 in them....I’m a visual person and like the looks of both guns....both fitted with different RD’s...and both can killers....havent measured the distance but chase cans all over the back yard....if they quit and cant be fixed ..will definitely look for more refurbished....as I dont think either gun worth full price(as much as I like em).....good luck
