Looked out the window & saw stationary hosp on the tree. Just sitting, for a long time. I've never seen a hosp sit like a statue ever, so I quickly grabbed beanz out the artillery and as soon as I stepped out side... BAM... my scope fogged up. Then sure enough, to add to the disappointment there goes the target flying out yonder.
I heard put dawn soap on the lenses and wipe it down to prevent that. What do you guys do to avoid this situation.

If you are in a spot, just spit on it and wipe it around...works for snorkeling masks for a least a little while. I have heard of the dish soap, but I don't recall trying it. Looking just now online, I see plenty of DIY based on it, so I guess it works.
Astronomy guys wrap small heaters around their optics to keep the dew from forming on them at night. This is essentially the same problem: the optics end up at a temperature below the dew point and fogging becomes inevitable. If you knew you might need the rifle on a day that is likely to fog up, you could put the ol' heated scope cover on until the time comes to use it. For that matter, I have to wonder if a heating pad on low might do the trick...Not much of an option in the field, but it depends on your needs.

I'll just learn to deal with it and wipe it down. Either way he came back to my bird feeder and I caught him lacking. Lol

Dang! I hate when that happens...both the fog and the flying away prey

He came back to the same exact spot. I even double tapped him.

Good job on that HOSP. You still using the .25 cal on smaller critters? Lol. You must get 'em real good
As to the fogging lense, dish soap, liquid hand soap, shaving cream (don't know about gel) and of coarse anti-fog wipes all work. The wipes are the best, next to keeping your gun in the same temp/humidity as the environment as far as keeping fogging to a minimum. Also works on mirrors (bathroom, vehicles, etc.) and safety glasses/goggles.
Take it easy.

Lol yes, still using the ole' 25. It's something about the pcp that feels so much better than a springer. (Maybe because I don't have to hold it the exact same way each time for a successful shot.)

I was going out to shoot yesterday so I took my rifle out and let it sit in a shady spot for about 15 minutes. Temp inside my house was about 74 and outside was in the low 90’s with about 800% humidity. Typical early summer weather in SW Mississippi. Did some pest control around my blueberry bushes and took 2 starlings.

Nice! And I thought the humidity was bad here
. Today was a hot one, 96°, I saw a few good opportunities but was in a hurry to finish up some yard work. I did have it sitting on the porch though, ready to rock-n-roll.
